I just got an email from the UC headquarters asking for proof of an extracurricular activity I did years ago (church affiliated theater company). I didn't save anything from the time I was involved, so I guess I'll have to go back and bother the director to write me a formal letter :(

Did anyone else get this email today? What did it ask for, and what are you going to send to them?

I’m confused too… of the multiple extra-curricular activities that we have, we would only need to show proof for one of them to get past the auditing?

Is today the only day they send out audits?!

@Shannon13: yes, I’m a transfer! I believe the individual UCs don’t look at our apps until January, but this email was from the UC headquarters in Bakersfield (not from any individual campus)

@GreenFlame: For me, the UC people asked me to send proof of one SPECIFIC extracurricular that I listed. So I guess you don’t just send in any random proof for your activities.

@AskMsSun: Haha I know!! I was like…thanks UC for this gift…

I got audited too, for an award. I don’t have the award any more. So I told them to contact a professor that handed me the award. Hopefully it goes well

Just to clarify, this is a random audit. Approximately 10% of applicants get audited (think of this as winning the UC lottery!) and the selection of the applicant and the item for audit are both random. There is an old article in the LA Times (2009) that explains how this works: [UC wants the truth on student applications - Los Angeles Times](Applying to UC? Don't fib).
