Sorry about dropping off the grid for a couple days folks! Got really busy with classes and couldn’t keep track of time. Surprisingly I was admitted to UCLA without a couple pre-reqs completed. I hope that’s a good sign for Cal. I have all the pre-reqs completed, their specific cultures courses, igetc, the whole nine yards. Friday can’t come here faster!
rejected from ucla with a 3.8, I have a 3.88 major GPA for cal, but im a UC to UC transfer. Applied l&s CS. Friday can’t get here any faster.

I applied for the bioengineering major. Ochem 2 is not a major prerequisite for it,but strongly recommended. I’m taking it this semester,but I may get a low C or even fail.
If I get into Berkeley ,are they going to take my admission back if I fail/ get a low C in a strongly recommended course?
I’m feeling very bad. I have gotten into all UCs, but the fear of getting all of the admissions taken away because of the ochem2 doesn’t let me be happy for a second

Transferring from UCSD. Yea hopefully. I’m not currently a CS major at UCSD and I mentioned that in my essays as a reason why I want to transfer. I’m just worried as Cal gives last priority to transfers from 4 years.
@plsacceptmeUCs Cal Day was pretty chill. They didn’t talk about anything that hasn’t been on the website and such. They did go into some discussion regarding housing and such, but most of it was general advice.
@suenos53 Dammit. I saw this at at 2 and you posted this at 1:50. The admissions officers were available to talk to regarding this until 1:30. I asked people in the transfer center though. They aren’t are knowledgeable as admissions officers but they said that it’ll hurt your chances but you shouldn’t count yourself out. The second one I was able to get more information for. EECS students can study abroad. It’ll be tough since you would be a transfer and have two years, but if you work with the counselors and the department you will be able to study abroad. Yes you can study abroad in Japan. They referred me to the UCEAP website when I put in the categories Engineering/CS/Electrical Engineering they the website gave a couple of options for a semester abroad in Japan. http://uc.eap.ucop.edu/builder

@UCLAorUCBTRNSFR Oh damn. With a gpa as high as yours I’d assume that you will be able to petition into UCSD’s CS major if things don’t go great?

@Orangered123 they have a lottery system, so its random for anyone with a 3.3 or above, so a high GPA doesn’t guarantee a switch into the major. Hopefully Friday goes well though lol.
@hummusy When’s the drop date? And one C is fine. For every major and every school I’ve read about in the past year or two, getting one C is fine as long as you keep your spring GPA on the whole above 3.0 or so.
*one C should be fine. You fail you’ll probably get rescinded, but a C for either UCLA or Berkeley they’ll probably accept it.
i was rejected from ucsd with a 3.9 gpa…are my chances zero to none with cal?
Also, you got into UCLA right? On the left side of the acceptance/admissions portal you should have an admissions contract. Read that and see if they say the requirement on spring grades for you.

@napoleonspirit No. As long as you finished most of your major prereqs by this fall and and are finishing your IGETC this spring you should have an extremely strong shot at getting into Cal.
