There’s hope! I called admissions today and they said that the deadline for the second wave is May 21. So if there’s some spaces left after that, they’ll send out some more!
Well frankly I’m not sure. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.
@gaeunshi123 which college in UCSD??
Wait so there was a second wave already? @mollyreid
And also how’d you get a hold of the office today O.O they open at 9am… @mollyreid
Pretty sure there wasn’t even a second wave…
UCB admission are not even sure themselves. It’s as if they each work for different schools.
@mollyreid you called them and they said that to you… how can you be not sure? LOL im just a bit confused how you can be unsure if you heard it.
Ready to call berk with my gf and raid them with questions.
We’ll bring you guys accurate info.
@LegewaitfoitDary thanks for taking the initiative. Could you ask about appeals as well, and if there are any spots left in the molecular and cellular biology department?
Hi guys @LegewaitfoitDary and I are calling Berk right now.
I think he’s still talking to them but I just hung up.
So I asked if the second wave has been released yet, and the admissions officer I talked with told me that it was supposed to go out late last week, but hasn’t due to technical difficulties (so the notice that shut down the portal for a few hours was not because of decisions).
She told me that she’s not entirely sure when it will be released, but it should be soon!
Also an extra piece of information for the out-of-state students: the first wave was mainly focused on the California Residents (in-state) students, so don’t be too discouraged!
I just talked with them and hung up literally one minute ago, and the admission officer I spoke with was very kind and even tried to check up on the issue with the second wave release, so I think this information is pretty reliable.
Keep your heads up and don’t lose hope. Good luck to all of you
Still waiting on my bf to finish talking with them haha
@HuhdangHYO
Thanks…i am OOS so I have hopes.
I hope there is a second wave for appeals as well!
Well, the guy I talked to was drowsy, so I asked to talk to an international admission officer.
The only info I was able to gain was, that a lot of L&S kids have been accepted so the opportunities for them are sparse.
@theworld123 Don’t know if MCB is part of L&S but it’s a bad new for both of us since i’m econ…):
I just finished making my account to bring you guys some good news that I received over the phone with an admisson counselor a minute ago:
The second wave has NOT been released yet; as others are saying, they were supposed to go out last Friday/this Monday, but due to technical difficulties, none were released. They anticipate to release yet another wave before the end of next week, however, when you (hopefully) have been admitted, you will be notified instantly through an email that will instruct you to check your portal. The time-frame to accept/deny the offer still stands at a strict, 7-day cycle. As an out-of-state student myself, I am unbelievably relieved to hear this straightforward information from an admission counselor versus the conflicting posts on the forum.
P.S. Shoutout to @LegewaitfoitDary and @HuhdangHYO for taking the initiative to take one for the team
@palmtree80degree and @HuhdangHYO , thanks so much…I’m OOS and am just literally biting my nails from the anticipation now.
@LegewaitfoitDary @HuhdangHYO Thanks guys.
Is there any news about internationals?
Wait I called admissions as well again and this lady informed me that the second wave was already sent out last week…
I’m so confused, because according to @palmtree80degree the second wave couldn’t be sent out due to some technical difficulties.
The office really needs to get its **** together.
@mollyreid I’m in Warren btw
@masteractivo internationals count the same as oos right? i mean they are talking about the “second wave”… theres no guarantee that the second wave will ONLY count of US residents haha
A girl I know got off UCB waitlist today, from NJ.
just received an offer today, im an international!
