UC Berkeley Waitlist

I was just offered a place on Berkeley's wait list. I have tried to find statistics of past years, but trustworthy sources are few and far between. Does anyone know what the size and chance of acceptance for Berkeley's wait list is?

Hi;
it’s unfortunate you were put on the waitlist. I searched some places but I couldn’t find anything on the official site. Some unofficial sources told me a range between 0%-100% so they were mostly wrong. As for the chance, that’s impossible to predict, since it depends on how many admitted students accept UCBs offer, and how many students opt in for the UCSC waitlist. Applicants will not know their standing on the waitlist. The Office of Admissions won’t know until mid-May how many applicants - if any - will be admitted off the waitlist.

Ok, thank you.

I was placed on the UC Berkeley wait list as well, and my advisor told me I will know by May 2.
