I just logged in to my Portal and I have the same denial message. It sucks that I didn’t get in since my wife is going to Cal for the spring term and I only got into UCLA. I really feel crappy about the whole thing. Maybe I’ll try a letter or something next?

These decisions are final. There is no further appeal, so a letter will not help. Sorry about the physical split thing. I’m sure that’s disappointing, but at least it’s the same State.

Nothing is ever final actually I have a friend who wrote a letter and talked to some people and he got in.
@SilverFoxAtCal Yeah she got into LA but not under her desired major of Pre-Psych. And Berkeley just makes more sense financially since they’ll be cover most if not all the costs. It’s just a real bummer to have her away at Cal. It’s going to be super tough.

Juan, you may say you have a friend who did this or that, but the reality is that it is extremely rare and a very long shot. The vast majority of applicants are not going to have any success appealing a denial of an appeal, should you choose to try it anyway.
I always recommend to students that if they’re concerned they might end up at Campus X (and what hardships that would entail), do not apply to Campus X. They cannot send you there if you do not include that campus on your list.
Here we go UCLA! At least this didn’t take until Monday.

With the huge problems in the California and UC budgets, this isn’t at all surprising. I know it is for the best since I was concerned about the resource constraints and the problems in getting courses.
@epiphany, what do you do? I feel like the appeals were not really looked at in detail. Why did they reject us before June 1st? Don’t they have to know how many spots are open before they reject all appeals?
Did you guys get an email on your appeal decision??? Or was it only on the portal?

I’m sure they looked carefully and in detail at all appeals. I actually think it took longer, not shorter, than I expected. Remember that they had already anticipated possibly not finishing by June 1. That was an acknowledgement that there were many to go through and a lot of decisions to be made. It was a sorting process. Most people denied have been offered another campus.as an alternative, before yesterday, and the rest of it was seeing if there was justification for acceptance at Berkeley as well. They had already mentioned recently how full the Berkeley campus is.
u meant if accepted by one campus, and there was no way accept by others even though I applied different colleges under UC system?
