They aren’t accepting letters of rec anymore, probably because they already requested them when you applied in November
They are not accepting LoRs. I confirmed almost thrice, but this year they have removed the option to upload. Sad because I wasnt asked to submit one even in the initial round. Looks like I am heading towards a double rejection
Are appeal decisions always responded to between May 30-June 1, or are they sometimes responded to earlier in May?
@mads94 most get a response earlier in May
Anyone hear back yet? Mine is still under review, and I just kinda want them to give me my rejection to get this over with lol.
nothing yet.
Called an admissions officer and she said she really couldn’t give any information beyond it being before June 1st. She did say that because of the waitlist and enrollment variation, decisions release are unpredictable. However, past trends…
From glancing over the UC Berkeley class of 2020 waitlist page it looks as though a lot of waitlisted students are being admitted. I wonder if this is good or bad news for those appealing
My friend got admitted today, I appealed but I’m sure I won’t get accepted. A lot of people are going to accept their offer.
May I ask if your friend got admitted off the waitlist or through the appeal? Thanks
Has anyone who appealed heard back? (good or bad news)
I haven’t heard back yet and its making me anxious. Is there at least one person accepted from appeal this year???
Appeals decisions have not been released yet.
I thought they were supposed to come in waves? Do the waves only apply to those wait listed?
I think it just depends on how many on the wait list accept admission, and the deadline for that is May 16 (Monday), I believe. So the open spots that are left over go to those who are accepted from the appeal. I’m sure there will be very few spots left open at this point, if any, so I don’t know if there will be waves like there were for the wait listed people. This of course is just my thoughts on it, don’t know if any of this is true but it’s what I would assume.
By the way, where have you guys SIRed to? I’ll be heading to UCLA
Is it true that even the waitlist decisions are delayed as compared to last year? If so, wouldn’t less number of students enroll even if admitted through waitlists, thus, opening up more spots which is good news for those appealing?
@bolt1234 I’ve hear that too but I’m not sure if it’ll open more spots for us appealers because most people who get off would probably go. That being said, I’ve also heard from a friend that this year, their yield rate is lower than normal, so they’re taking more off the waitlist and potentially off the appeal. Not sure where his sources are though, so if anyone could confirm, that would be great
@xylores Oh, I heard the opposite! I was told by a friend that the yield is higher than usual…
There have been weird changes related to my application checklist on the portal. Anyone else observed the same thing? Specially with my scores, some suddenly delete then come back etc
