I just filled out the questions form on Google docs so if I get the confirmation from them, I’m coming  Are you coming from SoCal?

FYI, I heard from a contact that works with REACH that confirmations are being sent out today. Hope you guys are able to go!

@ActuaryorBust yea I just got the confirmation this morning. Did you receive it too? They just don’t talk about transportation though. I thought it will be included :expressionless:

@bizmlover Yup. I got one this morning, but because I can’t stay for the whole weekend, I’ll probably have to forfeit my spot. I’m going to call and see if I can avail of the scheduled program and just drive myself up though. I figure the airfare to and from are where most of the associated expenses are at anyway.

Anyone here confirm their attendance and receive travel information yet?

I double-confirmed through text and e-mail and the director told me in our text exchange that travel info would come Monday afternoon but nothing thus far. I’m from SoCal so I assume that I’d have to follow up to secure a spot on the bus or whatever :-/

@ActuaryorBust I think last year one person drove there later too. Maybe they allow you to do it!

@JustinUC I just received the travel information an hour ago. Check your inbox! We’re flying there! :D/

@bizmlover You’re flying with a group of people I take it, how much were tickets? cause I don’t see anything about free airfare :frowning:

Only transportation option listed is the charter bus, but in begins in Central Cal (Bakersfield) and I’m located in the SFV… :expressionless:

somebody from SoCal do a carpool plz, if only to the Bakersfield amtrak [-O<

I still have not heard back from them… anyone in the same boat?

@teppeiahn You should have heard back from them by now, I suggest contacting them asap. Flights from LAX to Oakland have already been booked to my understanding.

@JustinUC I actually sent an email this monday around 5 pm but no reply yet. checked spam as well as the recently created Berkeley Gmail… Nothing.

Anyways Thank you for your info.

@teppeiahn I believe the confirmations were sent between 11AM and 3PM today. They were of the mass email variety rather than personalized ones so you might want to check your spam filters. There might be more in the future as people don’t reply or give up their spots.

@JustinUC That’s really odd! In the past it seemed like Bridge applicants south of Ventura county were offered a flight out of LAX while regions north of there were offered a bus ride not too different from the CalSO Golden Bear Express experience. I assume that the arbitrary border between air and ground transportation changes every year though. I know two people, one from Riverside and the other from San Diego, that did get their flight confirmations today.

@actuaryorbust There was actually a mix-up with my transportation plans that you alluded to. My school is in Santa Clarita and they assigned me to the Amtrak/bus; I live in the SFV, however, so I e-mailed for a spot on the LAX flight only to learn that names have already been submitted. Luckily I was able to book my own flight with some southwest points I had.

@ActuaryorBust

Checked everything but still nothin. I tried calling them but they don’t answer the phone. Only good way to look at this situation is to think that I am on the waiting list and they ware waiting for people to drop so they can have a spot for me!

Tomorrow is the day, looking forward to maybe meeting some of you folks and the other lurkers out there! Above all, I really hope this experience will help us make an informed decision!
