I had an honors banquet yesterday, and one of the students who was admitted talked about it. Apparently, you have to be nominated into the program by a counselor or something? Well, he was nominated by the honors counselor. But basically, they fly you in, give you a snazzy hotel to stay it, and give you VIP treatment while there. Its suppose to be really great, and he said almost everyone was SIRing on the flight back on their phones.</p>
<p>A student from my college (I’m from SoCal as well) had that opportunity. The transfer center counselor told us at a Transfer Celebration party on Wednesday that she nominated him to go up there.</p>

<p>At the PCC Cal reception, one of the speakers mentioned that they flew up 30 or so SoCal admits to Berkeley for the Chancellor’s Reception.</p>
<p>Was anyone in this forum invited to this event?</p>
<p>Yeah, they mentioned that at the May 7 reception at Berkeley. During the speech the guy was like “Cheer if you’re part of the SoCal group that flew up here” and you heard several people scream.</p>
