My son also has the Spring Admit FAQs now. In the FAQs, there’s a link to a Letters & Sciences Advising page which addresses BOTH incoming Freshmen and Transfers. The Spring Admit FAQ page also addresses FPF and non-FPF students. So, while someone in an earlier post mentions a link to a FB page for Transfers (which is accurate), the rest of the links/text of the FAQ page do indeed address freshmen.
Remember, if you don’t get admitted in Wave #1, it does NOT mean you are rejected. If you read last year’s waitlist thread, there were at least 3 waves throughout May. We are just starting May, remember that! Good luck, everyone!
Could someone please call the admissions office about this spring admit faq? So that way we’d get a clear answer about what it means.
their admissions office just opened
Can someone ask about the waitlist statistics also? And when do they expect the remaining offers to go out?
Spoke with admissions. The person I spoke with said it’s possible to be admitted to fall or spring from the wait list (possibly depending on space in your major)? She said without an email or a new acceptance letter on your portal, other changes can’t be considered acceptance. She didn’t think any offers for L&S have been made yet. She did say that individual applicants could call in and inquire if they had a question about the current status of their application. She couldn’t say when offers to L&S would go out. Someone with a portal change could probably get more information.
@1Katniss did she specifically say this was for freshman admissions?
Yes. I specifically asked if “wait listed” students are being admitted to spring. She said spring OR fall depending. Someone with a portal change should call to find out if it means anything.
Hey guys! I was wait listed and had the FAQ page change to the spring admit page. However, I think they found the glitch and fixed it, because it went back to the normal FAQ page. Just an update- anyone else see this?
@1Katniss what exactly has changed on some peoples portals?
also anyone wait listed for mechanical engineering? if so, what are your stats? and where did you sir to???
@1Katniss but Doesn’t transfer admissions also have waitlists? Because online it says transfer students can be offered admission to the spring semester but freshman no longer have spring admits.
Mine didn’t change but post #548 suggests it was glitch that has now been corrected.
I still have a feeling that the people who originally had the spring admit are the people who are going to get admitted for this next wave and the glitch was that their portal accidentally updated when the transfer decisions were released even though admissions didn’t mean for that to happen. I mean it happened before with civil engineer emails going out before admissions office intended for it to happen. If it truly was a meaningless glitch, then everyone would’ve had that change, and not just a set few.
stay positive! Maybe you’re a fall admit
I wonder if being waitlisted with a low GPA is a good sign, or a nice rejection.
@stillstres and @kornido I would not assume that the wave 1 would consist of only spring acceptances. I believe that even though these people with the spring FAQ might be getting in for the spring semester there might also be fall acceptances within the first wave.
@robogineer1649 I agree with you. I didn’t suggest Wave 1 will be spring admits only.
@kornido okay, sorry I did not mean to accuse you of anything or something like that I just thought that was what you were implying. My apologies.
My son’s FAQs changed back to the Waitlist FAQs, no longer Spring Admits FAQs.
@kornido they probably realized their mistake and changed everyone’s.
