UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Waitlisted Applicants Thread

I tweeted out cal admission office and these were their responses:

Question: If I did not check the box for fall program for freshman on the waitlist opt-in, would I still be considered for the program? Or will I be only considered for the traditional pathway?

Answer: If you are taken off the wait list, you would still be considered for Fall Program for Freshmen.

Question: Will not checking either fpf or global edge affect my chance of getting admitted off the waitlist?

Answer: It will not impact the decision if you are admitted off the wait list. Checking those boxes gives us an understanding of your interest but it does not increase or decrease your chance of getting off of the wait list.

@babuboy123 yes we went to Cal Day…awesome did you go? No UCSC, Merced or Riverside emails here. Nor any alumni scholarship emails…did you get one @JigglyPuffs123?

@knowledgeispower18 i did too! it was awesome

@soccerjumper just curious where did your S SIR too until he came off of the waitlist ?

Any predictions on how many they’re going to take off the waitlist this year?

@Rescuediva My last email was April 16th- a reminder to opt-in and to attend Cal Day.

i didn’t get an email about cal day… but i opted in a long time ago

@WaitingforGodot4 did u get into any of the other UCs?

Nop, right now is just to wait and, see this is my dream school, so let hope for the best.

Yes. @JigglyPuffs123 UCSB and UCSD as OOS student. Waitlisted UCLA and Cal. The rest are east coast and international universities. How about you?

@knowledgeispower18 My S SIRed to UCSD.

@JigglyPuffs123 I opted-in a while ago too. Not sure why I got the email when I already opted-in but it was exciting to hear from them. I am in Atlanta for DECA so I couldn’t attend CAL day.

Any idea how big the waitlist is this year? At least 4 kids from my school got waitlisted too. OOS btw

WOAH - They just released the common data set for 2017-2018. It says 7,459 were waitlisted of which 3,725 opted in of which 2,045 were admitted.

Basically, less people were waitlisted, less people accepted, and less people were admitted, however relatively speaking, the percentages shouldn’t be that different if at all different.

How likely is it to be admitted to the traditional pathway or to FPF Berkeley? Are most people admitted off the waitlist admitted to FPF San Francisco/Global Edge?

@AviSaxena33 how do you know less people were waitlisted and all?

common data set

@AviSaxena33 that common data set was from last year, do you think rates will be the same this year?

As I said above, they just released common data set for 2017-2018
