UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Waitlisted Applicants Thread

Just got the final rejection email. Did anyone actually get in today or did everyone get the same email?

Ya @zsbradt do u know if we can appeal tho

I’m not sure but I’ve heard no

Received Rejection email.

D rejected as well. Relieved that the wait is finally over and eager to move on. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!

We cannot appeal after being rejected from the wl

@Berkeley321
No. That’s not true in the slightest? Who told you that? You’re still receiving the same UC Berkeley degree as the people who’ve been there for 4-years have.

Also, transfer is easier. 27% acceptance rate compared to 17% for high school kids

Does anyone do any research transfer from different UC school to Cal? For sure you can transfer from CC to UC, how about from UC to UC?

Still waiting for a response on the waiting list. No denial email yet.

Does any one know if all the people will get a Denial letter by June1st or does the WL remain open for longer. ?

My child is applying tor Chem Engg and has got a 36 ACT/1540 SAT. gpa 4.5+. Top 10 in her class. In state - Bay Area.

But still no luck at UCB. (sharing the stats hoping it will help other future applicants)

Got the denial letter today morning. Finally end of this chapter. Not too disappointed

Not that we enjoyed the wait by any means, but it did give D (and us!) a chance to get used to the fact that she would be attending Davis instead. And now we are all good with it

@chicalmom my son is also going Davis. He been checking UC portal twice per day, finally it’s over. Can we exchange some contact information? Kids going to the same school, very top student

@coolsmileycat we also in SF BAYAREA. Can we exchange contact information, kids going to same school

S got rejection email yesterday. Couldn’t decide Davis, UCSD or Santa Barbara, but eventually decided for Cal Poly. Good luck everyone!

@marinay Cal Poly is a great school, without a doubt the most selective of the CSU’s. What’s he planning to study? Great environment with relatively small class sizes, professors actually teaching the classes, unlike most University’s Cal Poly is not a research institution, the focus is on teaching and learning and oh BTW, employers really have a high regard for the students. Go Mustangs!

wait…the UCs have a waitlist essay?? I am applying to the UCs right now as a transfer applicant but i applied to UCs as a senior in high school as well and dont remember any waitlist essay (i got waitlisted at uc santa cruz and riverside at the time)

im guessing she got rejected

It might depend on the school. My kid got wait listed at Berkeley and there was an opportunity to write an essay.

@t_ebbs: @aggies1989 is correct in that some UC’s require or offer a chance to submit a waitlist essay ie. UC Davis and UC Berkeley and some UC’s do not ie. UCSC and UCR.

If you have any specific transfer questions, then you should post them on the UCB transfer thread since this thread is from last year.

Hi Erin,

can you share what it takes to get into CNR in UCB?
