They used to accept a fair number of WL apps. In 2019-2020 it was about 1/3 chance, but it’s gone done since the pandemic. Most recent data from CDS says they admitted less than 1% of apps last year.

rejected lolz i’ve gotten into decent schools but i’m waitlisted at ucsd uci ucd ucsc so 
my uc decisions have been very rough but it is time to move on
Last year acceptance from waitlist was around 5 %, but historically it is between 30 - 40%. These numbers are overall acceptance from waitlist
