UC Berkeley Foreign Language Requirment

I'm a California Community College student and as I understand all of the UCs accept IGETC for general course requirements. Does this mean that to be eligible to transfer to Berkeley the applicant must complete a single 5 unit foreign language course? I know that this is the case for UCLA.

Any CCC students who know about this or past CCC students already at Berkeley - any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, a foreign language is required.

Berkeley L&S accepts IGETC; if you do not complete IGETC, you need to satisfy its foreign language requirement, described here: [Office of Undergraduate Advising: Foreign Language](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/fl.html)

Berkeley Engineering does not accept IGETC, but does not have a foreign language requirement.

I’m 99% certain a foreign language is required for transfer. I know it is for Business Administration.

What’s your major?
