OK, if anyone has any ideas please share. I was offered a unit 2 triple. But while at orientation I went and looked at some other housing opportunities and found a private dorm, with a better deal all around. So I signed a contract and paid a security deposit. Now, 3 weeks later, the check had not been cashed so when I inquired about it, they told me to resubmit the $400 and rental agreement. With the idea that I had a room at the private dorm , I told Berkeley that I didnt need a room and turned down the offer. So now, Im coming from out of state, with no gaurantee of a place to live. Are there any places that are good and realitively quiet...Thanks for the quick help, only 2 weeks till I fly in!!!

It seems like you can just put down the deposit in the private dorm now, cant you?

I already put down the deposit at the private dorm, but they lost it and so now they arent sure if there is a room open. Any suggestions on a good housing alternatives?

do you have a receipt for that deposit you already made?

what is the private dorm? where is it?

Yes I do have a reciept.

Telegraph Commons

emmmmmmmm i was offered a housing transfer...wat is that abt?

they offer you to change to a different dorm than the one you contracted

how can they say they lost it if you have a receipt that shows proof you did make the deposit? you shouldn't have to pay again, it's their fault for losing it. trying talking to them again and explaining your situation.
