UC Berkeley or UCLA for pre-med

I was accepted to both Cal and LA to study some sort of biology in the coming fall semester, but I can’t decide which school to choose. I feel as if it’s agreed that both universities can offer me equally excellent educations, and since I’m going in order to study, the social life (or lack of it) is not a concern to me. My main point of consideration right now is which school has better volunteer and research opportunities for an undergraduate student. Some people say that UCLA is better because it has its own hospital and medical school on campus, while others say that Berkeley is a better option because it is such a renowned research university. Obviously, this is all really subjective and rather hard to say with certainty since the majority of people don’t experience the pre-med track at two different places, but if anyone could offer me some numbers regarding the availability/ease of access of/to extracurricular opportunities I’d really appreciate it…

They are pretty much on par! Go with the location you favor.
