UC Berkeley Putnam Hall-Microwave!

I'm going to move into UC Berkeley's residence hall (Putnam Hall) in a week and I have general question about it.

Is there a microwave in the hall that everybody shares? If not, is there one on campus that we can use without a cost?

There’s a microwave in the kitchenette on the ground floor in Putnam. It’s free for everyone in the building to use.

I lived in Putnam last year! Woo! Prepare for the world’s slowest elevator, haha. There’s actually two microwaves! And people on your floor will probably have microwaves that they wouldn’t mind you occasionally using, either. :)

Thank you for your responses!!

I have another question if you guys don’t mind Is there a refrigerator where we can use? If there is, would you recommend using it or renting/buying a minifridge?

I’m actually a transfer student and I heard about the “Putnam Porn” when I was researching about the hall. Lol. I kind of feel bad for the guy because it happened 10 years ago and the incident is still pretty well known. I’m pretty sure he’s well off now, though. Hahaha.

There’s a fridge in the ground floor kitchenette. The entire building shares it so you have to label the stuff you keep in the fridge. I would recommend buying a minifridge, it’s more convenient.

Thank you, copperback. :)
