@rock53 unfortunately I wasn’t able to conclude anything from it. Although I do find it interesting that my affiliation was reinstated on April 21st…
@doglover95 Hi, sorry I have not read any previous post regarding Cal’s undergarduate groups. Can you briefly elaborate on what exactly is a Cal undergrad group and how I would be able to look my name up?
@Sanla124 My affiliation was also reinstated on April 21st. May I ask what program you participated in at Cal last summer?
@doglover95 but of the people here that have checked, they were each are a part of four groups.
@doglover95 I was also a mentor for Cal’s Starting Point Mentorship and my boyfriend is a CC student who’s waiting for his decision… So I’m also like losing sleep over decision day Good luck to you guys
@gapyearitis Haha no problem! Did you get that $250 SIR thing though?
@rock53 totally, it was the B2B program through the NIH. I worked in an MCB lab at Cal
u?
Basically a few people on here mentioned that they were part of some campus groups in cal. A few of them had names like “undergraduate” or “concurrent-undergrad” or things like that
But basically all undergrads would fall into one group and then it would split off into smaller, more specific groups by your major or whatever
You can find the group on your calnet manager. In the search bar just search “undergraduate” and you’ll see a group for Berkeley undergrads. Then you can search your name
Yes I realize that. I checked them all.
I’m literally in the same boat as you haha. I’m anxious about my bf’s decision tomorrow as well.
Good luck to you both!!! Wishing the best
@doglover95 Same. I’m assuming, I could be wrong, but direct access to the undergraduate folder (with a path "edu:berkeley:official:students:undergraduate-students) and specifically stating not a direct composite of any other groups which reinforces the CalGroup definitions is very intriguing. Not to mention if you also have the SIR fee and others don’t. However, 2-4-2 seems to be the go-to conspiracy. lol. Anyways, I’m done. Good luck everyone!
@doglover95 I went back and looked at my comment, I sent it before I finished typing. Bluntly asking, I’m wondering if you think that those who have it, those being everyone seeing those groups, are in?
@Sanla124 Looks cool from what i’ve read. I did my internship through the TTE REU.
I did realize that all of my mentees seeking admission for this fall had said “indirect” next to their name.
I graduated from cal a semester early so I’m not longer in the database. But I searched all of my friends at cal, and they also say “indirect”
So I’m not sure what that means. But I do think it’s a good sign if your name is in that group
I would say with confidence that I do believe that those who are in those campus groups have been admitted to cal
@gapyearitis If you click the “home” link (next to the create new group link) do you see changes that have been made recently?? I have three diff changes that all say “Added attribute Unknown to an attribute assignment”
These changes occurred yesterday at 10pm and today around 4pm.
Edit** 4 changes. Two around 10pm on 4/24, one at 10am on 4/26, and one at 4pm on 4/26 (so technically yesterday and Wed)
@doglover95
I would like to think that is the case, but I’m thinking that it may just be everyone who has a calnet id that may be the ones showing up in campus groups?
@Sanla124 I would place more of my chips on SIR + direct access… From my understanding, CalCentral is a new platform that rolled out last year. All of my current friends at Cal have the same group structure and are “direct” in the undergraduate student folder.
I don’t think that’s the case because one of my mentees who I am still in contact with (and whose name is in a campus group) does not have a calnet ID.
In addition, even if you made a calnet ID to take summer classes previously, you would not be part of the undergrad cal group.
@gapyearitis
I agree, but I have nothing better to do at the moment than fish. Other than sleeping, but that’s overrated at the moment. And CalCentral started 2 years ago
