@hailey5799 Two mailing addresses and two permanent addresses. One mailing address is the same as one permanent address and the other mailing address is the same as the other permanent address.
@GoldenState1 I hope that means we were accepted from the day we submitted our app,hhh
I have the elongated zip code as well but only two addresses. So nervous because Berkeley is my top choice but it might not mean anything? IDK. I hope it doesn’t mean anything but it looks as though it probably does
hope for all of us with only 2 addresses/ elongated zips ! after digging thru last years thread I found this post from uclatransfer11 on page 127:
"[…] I don’t think the addresses have anything to do with it and even if they had EVERYONE who was checking their MAP rigorously all saw it go from 4-2- etc. Those who chimned in later could have not of seen this change.
3 people yesterday said they were admitted which was determined by the difference between calnet notifications but these same people ALL took summer classes at Berkeley in the past.
If any of you can’t find affiliation try signing into both links above because they do in fact take you to different places.
I think what would be helpful at this point is if someone who did not apply to uc Berkeley made a summer calnet account so we could determine the difference and put all the speculations to rest.
As of now some people so they saw 4 addresses and new admit tours while others didn’t see 4 addresses but did see new admit tours whil other people didn’t see either but their affiliation say presir. Their seems to be no consistency so we those who don’t see or have what others do don’t think you’re rejected it could very likely be a glitch!"
I think the people who only see 2 addresses wrote their address in the correct format in their application, whoever didn’t probably got four. They abbreviated my spelling of road, so I think if they had to refix some of the addresses (extra 4 digit zip codes, abbreviations of streets, etc).
I have four addresses listed on my portal! When I first applied I only had two and now I have four with two that have extended zip codes and two that are regular.
Transfer from DVC, last name begins with an S, and a Media Studies major
This whole conspiracy about the 2-4-2 thing is freaking me out even more but hopefully I got in
Hi everyone, I applied to Berkeley last year and got accepted off the waitlist, but a couple days before my admission came out, I had 4 addresses on my portal. (I chose not to go to Cal last year but im applying again this year because I wanted a second chance at UCLA) The 4 addresses are showing up in my portal this year as well.
Many people think this is a “glitch,” but I think the reason for 4 addresses is that Berkeley wants to double verify the addresses of the accepted and waitlisted applicants with the official USPS address database (so they know for sure where to send the admissions letter, etc.) So basically if you have 4 addresses in your portal, you are most likely accepted or waitlisted. Good luck!
hey guys! first time ever posting on CC, until now I have basically been watching from afar trying to better understand the admissions process. Last night, I signed up for the summer session and recieved the email around 30 minutes later to create the ID etc. This morning I did as instructed and was able to access my Calcentral and my CalNetID page. Furthermore, I was assigned a UC Berkeley email with my firstnamelastname@berkeley.edu – does anyone have any speculation as to if this means anything? I am a Bay Area CCC student, stats as follows.
I have unusual circumstances because I went to a 4-year private OOS school before coming back to the Bay and taking community college classes.
GPA: 3.801 (Major 3.85) with upward trend from mostly A’s and B’s (at my first college my GPA translated to around 3.55 in a very specific major, not at all related to what I am doing now) to having a 4.0 for the last two quarters in all my major classes.
Major: Political Science
Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCSD, UCSC, UCSB, and UCI.
Accepted: UCD, UCSC, UCSB, UCI
Pending: UCB, UCLA, and UCSD (which I hope comes out soon!)
I have a lot of credits completed from having attended a few separate colleges (roughly 130+ quarter units) and met with an admissions officer @ CAL who told me that would not be an issue because they are all lower division courses and it would not negatively impact my admissions decision.
Feel free to chance me (like it even matters at this point, lol) or if anyone else is able to access their @ berkeley.edu email…cannot wait till Friday, years of work finally coming to a close.
best of luck to all!!
EDIT: I also have 4 mailing addresses listed. Last name beginning with S & got the alumni email
My addresses definitely changed, though I still have two; they added the extra 4 digits to the ZIP code and my address is further abbreviated than what I submitted on the initial UC Application.
