within the last week, this thread has transitioned from normal college admissions discussion, to conspiracies, to fighting about conspiracies, to self deprecation and meme culture. i love u guys i feel like we’ve grown up together
same :’) going to cry in the club we have all evolved
@futjewlaw lmao true people threw hands real fast at those conspiracies. The most important thing I noticed about this thread and the UCSD thread is that people are real brave on an anonymous forum.
@smsk I signed up with “pending decision” option as well, but my affiliation has always been NOT REGISTERED, for me.
Perhaps I was a PRESIR too, and didn’t notice it changing, because I signed up kinda late (got the summer application processed email before 8am today, signed up for CalNet ID after 2pm today).
Anyways, as a lot of people suggested, the PRESIR affiliation and the “New Admit Tours” might just be false signs. We’re also seeing PRESIR people changing to NOT REGISTERED this year, which is unusual compared to previous years. Anyways, lets keep ourselves updated whenever there’s a change and hope for the best!
@ericbadmon I’m not going to lie, but there are definitely some people who look down on transfer students and are a little mean. It’s just a negative attitude/stigma that persists on a lot of college campuses but personally, I’ve never gotten outright hate for me being a transfer. I’m sad people like that are out there though. It’s not the warmest environment for transfers but as someone who mostly hangs within the transfer community I feel very welcomed and supported.
@OhWhatsHerName Actually, I know of a couple transfers who were accepted off the waitlist so there definitely is one (though I’m not sure if some majors don’t have them)
a concept: a forum meetup where we all wear nametags with our handles. once THOSe people show up we throw hands for realllll
Also, to the speculation that certain things on your admissions portal means you got in or were denied, don’t worry too much about it. I kept on freaking out that nothing was changing for me but I was still accepted.
@thecolorblue ikr like I have classes with half these people I can’t say anything lololol
wait can we actually hangout…
plz i feel like a lot of us are local? i am bay area
I support this notion wholeheartedly
@futjewlaw @flaminhaute see y’all at the campanile
if we don’t get in, we jump off at 4 pm on friday @flaminhaute @getoutmeswamp
lmao I’ll totally join you guys.
Oh and btw I’m pretty sure my affiliations previously said “former student” also. Now it’s the presir (and I have a “former employee” but that’s from last summer.)
Also how the heck do you auto refresh this page with chrome???
I have a love / hate relationship with y’all afternoon. I’ve been lurking and I’ve been feeling all kind of feelings. Like omg I’m not in to omg I’m in! Either way I’ve had a blast reading all your suggestions, tips and conspiracies!!!
haha it’s been pretty entertaining for sure
I tend to agree with those who think the PRESIR status is not a sign of anything. Someone in another thread said she/he created a fake account on CalNet and still got the PRESIR affiliation thing. However, I bet this would look cool on my ECs: “currently neglecting a school work about Group Theory Obsessing about metaphysical signs, such as constantly reloading any browser in a ritualistic way, and looking for false evidence that may help support her self-validation.”
lmao
Sooo I just enrolled in summer classes. I believe it gives you a week to pay the fees, so I should know if I got in by then if I need to drop the courses or get to take them >:)
