Hey guys I would appreciate it so very much if I could get opinions on my admission chances to Berkeley. I love the environment that surrounds the school and it just seems like the type of institution I could see myself in. But only if I get in!! Anyway here are my stats.
I’m a philosophy major**
Overall GPA: 3.72, Major GPA: 3.66
Huge upward climb in grades since my first year in college
I’m apart of PTK and I work about 25 hours a week to pay rent.
Anything else I should add? Just ask I’m not too sure. Thanks for your opinions guys
Your gpa is a bit above 25th percentile, which is pretty good. Did you take a good enough of phil. classes? My friend is a phil. major as well and and admissions counselor told him that b/c most colleges don’t offer any of the prereqs, you have to show interest in the major by taking transferrable phil. classes.
Working while in school helps. As far as PTK goes, I’ve heard that it’s not that useful unless you have a leadership position in it. But that’s just what people say idk how admissions counselors actually approach it.
hmm okay, that was super helpful. Yeah all the classes I’ve taken for philosophy fulfill the prereqs for UCLA but not Berk I can’t find them anywhere! But thanks Eric for the headsup
