@Orangered123 do you mean for your waitlist FAQ?
@BlackDragon209 I have the same thing on mine.
@BlackDragon209 hey I’m appealing as well. Although when you log in it tells you that we should hear something by June 17th, if you read the FAQs, it updated and says that we will hear something by July 1st. Don’t know which is correct, but I would still call on the 17th and see what they say. I’m probably going to do so.
@jonathaanv Maybe it is a mistake on UCB’s part. It’s all kind of confusing. Only thing we can do is be patient. Time will tell.
@jonathaanv did you submit your appeal before or after the original May 15th deadline?
Recently there was a thread made for those of us on appeal for UCB:
Right now there is not too many people, just four, including myself. Maybe those of us on appeal should convene there when discussing our appeals?
I’m just trying not to hijack Orangered123’s thread that he made for the those on the waitlist.
Just to give those of you on the waitlist some more info: The people I know who have been accepted off the waitlist were accepted last Wednesday, June 7th. Their deadline to SIR was yesterday, June 13th.
Perhaps this means the second wave of waitlist decisions might come out today or sometime this week.
let’s hope not everyone SIR from the waitlist so we can all still have a chance. still surprised no one on here has gotten in !
I just had a phone call with one of the admissions officers a few minutes ago and this is what I asked and what I heard. I asked when our decisions will be coming out and she said the school will notify the decisions via email THROUGH this month until July 1st, but the school does not offer any exact date although I directly ask. (I think she just follows the rule trained by the office to answer any phone call). Then, I asked the following question: whether the decisions depend on each department and the dates for releasing decisions also depend on the department. The rep answered yes. Based on what I asked and what she answered, I guess the dates for learning our decisions would vary based on the department where we applied to, or technically based on our majors. Hopefully, at least one of us in this thread gets accepted off the waitlist through this month.
@BlackDragon209 No problem. Waitlists and appeals are on a fairly similar situation so it’s perfectly fine if you want to discuss on this thread or that one. It’s not like this thread is extremely busy or something.
@dragondo8 That’s great information! Thanks for letting us know about it. Gives me a little bit more hope to cling to. I’ll stick to hoping that means that my department/major has still not released anything yet.
@BlackDragon209 Any chance you know the majors of the friends in the transfer program who got off the waitlist?
@Orangered123 social welfare
@BlackDragon209 Thanks for the information!
Hey guys. I have been checking out this page for a little while now and just made an account. I wanted to thank you guys for all of your hard work and research; it has really helped quell my anxiety. I want to start posting any information I get as well. Nothing yet, also haven’t experienced any glitches, but will keep you posted regardless.
Yeah, thanks to everyone who has called and given information from various sources. Appeal or waitlist, this month long wait is stressful.
Just wait and see. They too are tired of bunch of people calling everyday about things they aren’t sure of, especially when people call to ask what 4 and 2 address change indicates, or when’s the next wave blah blah
If the office really released several offers last week, there probably won’t be a next wave… I’m really disappointed. I’ve been literally dreaming about berkeley. Now I feel like being tricked by a most loved friend.
It seems like in the past there has been more than one wave of offers. It probably depends on how many people SIR after their offer.
Some people change their mind and choose not to, so do not lose all your hope. Sometimes while a person is waiting for their waitlist/appeal decision they start getting deeply invested in another campus they SIR’d to. And they end up getting convinced that particular campus is a better fit for them, so they just choose to stick with the campus they originally SIR’d to. I’m kind of going through that right now. Except for me, if UCB accepts my appeal, I’m off to Berkeley for sure.
Also, some people might have been accepted to some private university after they heard their original UCB decision, and they may choose to go there instead of UCB, even though they opted-in for the waitlist.
Simply put, there are many things that could happen between now and the moment you get your decision. So, do not lose hope yet.
true^^^
I hope tomorrow goes well for all of us. Good luck everyone.
hopefully something happens today. two weeks left and noone on here has gotten accepted
