@studentzunite undergraduate advisor
@TamJai Me too. I called my department which is math and they totally had no idea about admission stuff…and yet admission office says they handed all waitlist material to different departments…
No offense, but many undergraduate advisors really have no knowledge of stuff other than courses needed to complete your major. Just my personal experience after talking with some advisors. Therefore, I would doubt that an undergraduate advisor would know any of this transfer waitlist information. I still do think that there is still room for us.
I have just asked the admission office that whether the transfer waitlist is still rolling out for the department of letters and science, and their reply is: We cannot say either way as we are currently reviewing enrollment numbers. We are hoping to have complete by July 1.
anyone who got accepted know where/how to pay the deposit? I dont see it as a task in cal central
I think us and the transfers who are appealing are just in the same pile cause they still gotta look at their applications :-?
@xaul95 We are. I’m a transfer appeal and some people off the appeal thread got off at the same time as some wait listed students.
@xaviergoya ugh i can just imagine the number of waitlisted students and appeals. Why Berkeley just tell me!!! IM READDY TO DEAL WITH THE REJECTION!!!
@xaul95 I have several software engineering interviews lined up this week and I can’t accept any offers until I know for sure…Maybe there’s some hope. I just keep praying that there is.
@xaviergoya damn dude it’s stuff like that that makes this even worse. We are putting our life’s on hold just to hear back. For me it’s knowing we’re in going to live in the next few months.
@CaliOak If you’ve already submitted your SIR, a message should pop up in the same area of Cal Central (under Amy Jarich’s picture and the “Congratulations!” message), which prompts you to pay the deposit. You should also be able to view any outstanding payments under “My Finances” in Cal Central. Hope this helps!
Looks like UCB doesn’t want high school transcripts if IGETC is complete!
@thehooman I was able to login with my cell and a hotel computer and order transcripts. It was a pain in the rear but I got it done in 3 hours!!
@Orangered123 Congrats back at you! Remind me of your major again. Hopefully we come across each other. I’m glad you got in.
I just emailed my admissions advisor about this. I’ll let you know what she says. @Orangered123
So far it seems like none of the math majors got in, to be specific applied math?
Monday-Friday are going to be nail biting :-S
Has anyone had to fill out an update form and if so did you hear back from admissions? I had to inform them that I am currently enrolled in the last course to complete my IGETC. I have read that you’re not supposed to do so but I included this information back in January (provided all completed courses and future course schedule) before I was even admitted so a representative told me that it was probably already taken into consideration but to fill an update form out just in case.
The problem is if I don’t hear back Monday there is no way I’m going to decline my other offer if there is any chance the offer at UCB can be rescinded. I’m following the instructions that were given which was DO NOT SIR if you haven’t heard back from admissions but it’s not looking good! Has anyone heard of students accepted off of a waitlist getting extensions if this sort of situation occurs?
@Indecisiveness33 I think that’s more in line for people who were accepted the first time and had a month to SIR. I think it’s better to SIR unless you have a really bad case. If it was already on your application I would SIR since it’s doubtful they will rescind you. They have seen the information if you listed it, it’s not new information. Consider calling up and talking with the office and if you haven’t already send an email to contact your admissions officer (listed in the conditions of admission.) That said it’s probably a good idea not to decline your other offer until you hear back.
@Orangered123 That’s what I thought since we have such a small window but I called and was surprised when they told me to do an update form that says it takes at least 5 days to get a response! But I hope you’re right about it being unlikely because that would be a nightmare haha. I will definitely email my admissions officer now and hopefully hear back early Monday since we have until 11:59 PM. I would just feel more comfortable getting confirmation before such a big decision. Thanks for the response and congratulations on your admission!
