UC Berkeley Waitlist Thread

I was accepted to Berkeley off the waitlist with a 3.69 in poli sci; however, I was admitted to UCLA and plan to attend. I was wondering how I can decline my offer I only see the option to accept.

I’ve got a 3.93 (and lots of volunteering and EC) and was only accepted to UCSB and waitlist for Berkeley and Irvine. I applied for Econ everywhere else and EEP at Berkeley. This is so frustrating.

You could have withdrawn your application while you were on the waitlist. Call them so someone else doesn’t miss out.

Does anyone know if any rejections went out yesterday?

@sezzabezza what is the first letter of your last name? they might still rolling out in alphabetical order. U hv a higher gpa than me (mine is 3.7) and last name starts with a L.

Hey guys , 3.9 GPA, 4.0 major GPA, VP for a service club, 2 internships, some other EC and majoring in econs. And still nothing. U guys think if I shud just go with SD or just wait painfully for this to end?

@Anonylol It’s not too long now, I’d hold it out and try to distract yourself in the meantime. A small chance is better than no chance.

Hi, is there anyone knows how to create the CalNet ID? It’s so stupid that I clicked into the create CalNet Id section and it requires CalNet ID to create one =___= but it has the option to sign up with the map@berkeley, so I clicked on that one but it said “forbidden”. The CalNet ID is like the key to everything, including getting the transit Clipper card and stuff. It 's just so frustrating that all the deadlines passed for the transfer waitlist student and leave us with lots of confusion.

Got in last night at a Political Science major! Now, I need to decide whether to stay at UCLA or go…

Sorry everyone, but I can’t activate my CalNet ID. Is this a super strict deadline?

Three days left… anybody will call admission today? = = I hope math department will sent out decisions today…

@Orangered123 How did you create a CalNet ID finally. Just not able to figure it out.

@studentzunite

Yes me too. Not able to create the CalNet ID. Is there a deadline for it.

Has anyone called to figure out how to create the CalNet ID?

@108Degrees Any luck?

It seems that if we don’t hear anything, that implies a rejection? No one seems to get an email that says rejected on this forum

@blasbcptransfer so far no success.
Cal Central recording said to log ticket at sishelp@berkeley

@108Degrees and anyone with the same issue for the CalNet ID: Called the admissions office. Post your issue on this link: http://saservices.berkeley.edu/CSC/student-case.html

The admissions officer said deadlines other than transcripts should be feasible and flexible since we are not given much time. Importantly, make sure your scores and transcripts are in on time.

For anyone still waiting on the waitlist: Many times I felt like decisions have been made, but keep on waiting. You never know what to expect. I expected the unexpected last night at 6, a somewhat weird time that contradicted the supposed pattern of transfer waitlisted students.

On the conditions of admission for mine, it said nothing about a 3.0 or anything lower than a C. So for the update form after you’ve accepted, if I didn’t pass a Calc course (Soc major did well in all requirements), how do you think this will affect the admissions offer? And should I do the update form? I ask because this course doesn’t have anything to do with the major.
