UC Berkerly !!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, since Berkeley is coming up on the 26th i was just curious about sometihng. some of my friends just got an email from berkeley that they recieved their application and that is it. as for me, i got emails from berk telling me to apply for scholorship, come to this colliation of excellence.

i was wondering what you guys got in ur emails?

i got all those emails too.
i didn’t have the proper stuff to fill out the scholarship though :/, but does that mean we’re like gonna be accepted?
i only got the one email from UCLA and didn’t get in, but got similar emails from UCSB, and UCSC and i got into those.
I have been getting those from UCB too. I’m really nervous.

If your talking about the leadership scholarships and the like, I’m pretty sure it’s just a mass e-mail. I got them too a little while back. I’m praying fro an acceptance though.

The scholarship email was sent to everyone with above 3.3 GPA I believe.

well i only got one email from ucla, but i was accepted.

as for berkeley, i’ve been receiving the emails, but i don’t think it means that much.

Hm.

Interesting.

I have a 4.0 and have received only a generic “Yes, we’ve received your app” email. There was the Cal Aggie Scholarship thing, but wasn’t that just for Davis?

wait, you had a 4.0 and didn’t receive the berkeley alumni leadership scholarship invitation?

i got emails about webinar?? (or something like that) and alumni scholarship.

ilovepeople:

No! I was also rejected from UCD… And I’m local, too! I’m beginning to think something has gone terribly awry with my application.

If it was the alumni association scholarship email from berkeley, they sent those to pretty much all applicants i believe.

did anyone else get the coalition of excellence?

but ionno it says “this does NOT mean acceptance”

so ionnop

I believe that the only scholarship for Berkeley that is an automatic in is the Regents. The rest are generic mass emails to those that fit a certain mold of requirements as defined by the people who made the scholarships…

“Participation in OSP is contingent on your acceptance to UC Berkeley.”

hi i got another email saying this. can someone translate?

I got an SOP from the alumni

90 bucs?

yeah right, F that

Chick: Means that you’ll only have a chance IF AND ONLY IF you get accepted to Cal.

But I don’t think the scholarships honestly do a thing or matter whatsoever for your acceptance chances into Cal. As said, it’s done separately from the admission staff.

i dont get why colleges send letters saying “This does NOOOOOOOOTT mean you have been admitted” or something like that. whats the point of sending em

Informational. Some tell you how to check your app status, whether you’re missing info, and other general important stuff. The OSP email was to inform you of the overnight program. Whereas we’d really like them to, the point of these letters isn’t to say “This letter doesn’t tell you anything about your status! Haha! Gotcha!” but they are for other more important reasons.

They send them so you know that you can apply for a scholarship
