UC --> CC --> UC (Class transferability)

Hey guys, so i went to ucsd for a quarter and took chem6A which is gen chem 1. i am now at community college and have taken gen chem 2. On assist, at my cc, i need chem 201 (gen chem 1) and chem 202 (gen chem 2) to fulfill UCLA’s chem20a/b/lab. However, since i started the series at a different uc and completed it at a cc, i dont know how its going to transfer. I looked on transferology and it says it doesnt transfer. If it doesnt transfer, i wont meet the Bio requirement for a year of general chemistry. Am i screwed

They want a year of chem and you have one semester and one quarter. Usually in these cases they expect you to do the two semesters even though you had a quarter completed. I suggest you contact the UC directly and ask. You might have to take chem 1 (semester) out of sequence, meaning you won’t get the units but you get the subject credit.

@Ohm888 So what would happen since UCLA requires one year of Calc which equals to their (Math 31A/B) If i took a quarter of calculus at a UC which according to transferology transfers as 31A and then take a semester of calc 2 at a cc which converts to 31B. It will still be a quarter and a semester but they both transfer as the classes needed.

You need to ask the UC. Don’t get caught short by making any assumptions.

So i called ucla today and they said that i will fulfill the requirements of general chemistry 1 and calculus, but i will be “less competitive” since i only have a quarter and a semester compared to someone who has a semester and a semester.
