I qualify for the local path and statewide path thing. I noticed some UC’s use that in their admission process as a factor.

I’m hoping to get my ACT over the equivalent of a 1810.
In order to be higher than that I think the ideal score would be a 28. 30+ would be awesome too.

Your GPA is impressive (but you should list your unweighted because that is a little more important) but your SAT is very low for UCB, UCLA and UCSD and I am assuming that you will apply CS which is super competitive at every UC campus and with that said UCR and UCSC are your two matches and UCSB is a reach, the others are, well…

If you get a 30+ on your ACT (especially high in math and science) your chances will increase DRAMATICALLY. UCSD. UCB and UCLA will all be low reaches/high matches and UCSB, UCR and UCSC will almost be guaranteed.

You should also consider taking the Math II SAT Subject Test (and scoring well).

You didn’t specify your ECs but from what you said they sound solid so that’s a plus as well.

@aigusta my UW GPA is 3.95
I’m actually applying to Mechanical Engineering and I’m Hispanic.

I took the Mathematics subject test and the Bio subject test several days ago.

And as for the ACT, i’ve been taking practice tests scoring around 28-29 (which I know isn’t amazing but it’s significantly better than my SAT score)

California publics banned affirmative action so being Hispanic will not help. I agree with @Mangiafoco, that the UC’s focus heavily on GPA which will help but since you are an Engineering major, you need to be above the averages for test scores also.
