attended a summer program at Harvard and UCLA.

done 4 community college course. got A's in all.
hook:volunteering and tutoring underprivledged children.

chances at UCLA, UCB, UCSD, UCSB, Pepperdine, USC.
also, are my ec's weak? my counselor says I have nothing dat stands out.

haha, pretty good. don't worry about your ECs

scores and tests and grades are goode nough

ouch dude, your counselor says you ec's suck? ur ec's are fine. good leadership positions. your volunteer is like WHOA!!!!! ur in at all

I don't think your hook is a hook, since many people probably do that. I think your counselor thinks your ECs are weak in that you say ur in "debate club" but don't list any awards (also applies for stuff like academic decathalon...unless its only regional awards, which I don't think are that worthwhile to list in the first place) Did you win 1st place anywhere? Did you qualify for state? Have something to show for your involvement, otherwise it looks superficial.

LOL. I used to love Go too.

I'd loosen up on APs senior year, unless they are all really easy. You need time to develop your essays, ur ECs, and for your app! No matter how great sr. yr. schedule is, it won't matter if you can't articulate it well in app.

With that said, depending on the rigor and rep of your school district (i.e. I live in Irvine = established as pretty tough district) and school in general - oh, are you ELC? - I'd say (based on my experience, which might be different b/c of diff. school districts):

pretty sure: UCSD and UCSB
have a good chance: UCLA, UCB, USC

I'd count on SD, SB, and at least one, if not 2 or 3 in 2nd category.

I have no idea about Pepperdine. :)

EDIT: You didn't tell your class rank. A lot of this depends on your rank too. Though, looking at GPA, I'd say its pretty high, so you def. have a great shot. I'd apply outside of Cali, maybe to 1 or 2 Ivies, just as a chance. :) Frosh year does hurt u bit here tho.

OH YEA MY CLASSRANK...of course
we do decile ranking...1st decile
well our debate club is basically still forming and i helped out
our deathlon didnt do so well.
Oh i go to beverly hills high school.
oh yea, im ELC.

so lets see...so UCLA and UCB are reaches?

ebonytear is kinduh right. Not all applicants are perfect, but there is one flaw, you have no awards. Get sum and you should be fine.

UCLA/UCB: match
USC: match, maybe even safe match
UCSD: safe match
All other UCs: safety

Keep in mind that a match does not mean guaranteed acceptance, but you have above 50/50.

1337noh4k4:

UCLA/UCB: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCD/UCSB/UCI: Safety
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Super Safety

u'll make it into berk.

you'll get into berkeley for sure.

planning to become an eagle scout? :)

Cal and LA have become lottery schools. Good shot, but not a sure thing. The others should be safe (as long as you don't want a bio major at SD).

well aznballerlee ...this is just current. Hopefully, I will be eagle by the time admission frenzy begins
