@stanufb I got three options from 2015 - 2017. 2017 was the only one that would let me make a deposit for ‘residence hall’ while the rest had a ‘no deposits payments available’ message. Not sure what it means but hopefully your theory is right. btw I did apply in 2015 and did not get in.
So I got to step 4 of @stanufb 's post on the “myBill trick” and when the page finally loaded, I didn’t see any tabs at the top. I was taken to a page called "UC Davis Financial Responsibility Agreement, where it said, “Your UC Davis student financial responsibility is explained below:”. This seems kind of like a terms of agreement thing, where the terms are numbered from 1-11, and at the bottom, I was given the option to either click ‘I Agree’, ‘Deny Consent’, or ‘Print’.
Did this happen for anyone else? I TAG’d Davis if that makes a difference.
Edit: Once I clicked ‘I Agree’, I was taken to a page where I could complete step 5 on @stanufb post. I was given the options to select Fall 2017, Spring 2017, Fall 2016 and Fall 2015. When I clicked on Fall 2016, I got a message that said, “There are no deposit payments available at this time”.
2nd Edit: When I selected Fall 2017 from the drop-down menu, I was given the option to “Make Deposit Payment” with the only option being “Residence Hall” on that drop-down menu. The page says the maximum payment amount I can make is $500.00 and gives the option to make a payment of my choice and continue but I’m scared to do so lol.
This is freaky! Again, did this happen to anyone else?
Same thing happened with me @doihaveashot2016
Yup the same exact thing happened to me but a little differently in the beginning steps because I did not TAG Davis so maybe that it why it it different for you…right when I signed in it took my right to the page where I can do the drop down menu thing and from that point on as you described it is exactly what happened to me!
Oh, that’s strange! I wonder if the TAG made a difference. @stanufb Props to you for finding the trick!
@doihaveashot2016 I got the option to pay $500 too
I didn’t tag Davis either.
Hopefully we all end up getting in! Are any of you from the Bay Area by any chance??
oh man the time is getting close - anyone got decisions yet??? I am so nervous… Just got my decision from UCSC so hoping this one comes soon.

Be skeptical regarding admission tricks. It’s likely that they aren’t true. No need to give yourself false hope. It’s an anxious and exciting time for all of us. Suspend judgment until the 21st
what thread was that post from? I was able to get to the deposit of $500 but it looks like all of us were able to
the only reason why i said anything about the post in the first place was because there were some people in the old thread that did not end up being able to make the deposit an those were the people who had their TAG’s revoked earlier in the semester due to their grades falling below the requirement, so I thought because of that, that this might be accurate.
Accepted to UCSB and UCSC already! I tagged to David so I’m expecting an acceptance but nevertheless good luck everybody!!!
I was accepted to UCSB and TAG’d Davis as well! I guess it is sort of an inevitable acceptance (but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much, just in case). If you don’t mind me asking, which school are you leaning more towards? I’m torn! @fcb1010
@doihaveashot2016. I’m leaning towards UCLA, UCB, and UCSD in that order. But UCSB would be my fourth choice if I don’t get accepted into those three. Mainly because Davis is too close to me lol. What about you?
Oh really? So you’d prefer UCSB over UCD? UCSB is super close to home for me and at first, I thought there was no way I’d even apply, but I’ve changed my mind. I really like the school and could see myself going there and being happy, despite the location, but Davis is so nice as well and I can’t decide which one I’d rather go to. I guess Davis’ unofficial award letter will be a decent determining factor when it comes in.
If I get into UCB or UCLA, I’d have a hard time deciding which one I’d rather attend. Cal used to be my dream school, but I’ve been hearing so many nice things about UCLA that they’re tied for me. Who am I kidding, I’d be lucky if I even got into one of the two lol! I’d probably choose either one over UCD, UCSB and UCSD (visited the campus and I didn’t like it). @fcb1010
@doihaveashot2016. Ya I get you I don’t really like UCSD that much since it’s really big and seemed kind of dead when I went last year. I liked the vibe of UCLA much more than Berkeley after visiting friends at both schools. UCB might be more prestigious but I personally like UCLA much more. UCSB campus is really nice but nevertheless I know many people at UCD and they want to convince me to go ther but I just think I need a change!
Exactly! I got very little sense of student life, school pride, or community (even the buildings were weird), and it definitely doesn’t have a college town vibe like UCD or UCSB do. It also wasn’t very walkable which I didn’t like and the density of eucalyptus trees made it easy to feel lost. Why do you prefer it over UCSB?
I’ve only visited UCB and UCLA once, so I don’t have much to go off of, but I actually liked UCB’s vibe better, but maybe that’s because I went to visit on game day! I need to visit both again. At least you know what you want. (I wish I could say the same!) @fcb1010
@doihaveashot2016. Honestly I don’t know why I have UCSD over UCSB lol. I’m visiting UCSB again next week so maybe it will change my mind. But definitely UCLA is my top choice!
Oh OK! I hope you like UCSB as much as I do. I visited a couple of days ago for Spring Insight, and of course, hit up IV with some other transfers for Deltopia festivities. Also, I hope you get into UCLA! Just a few more weeks until we have a bit of clarity on our futures. @fcb1010
