Here's the background: I applied to UCD as a transfer for Fall 08 when I will enter as a junior. I'm transferring from a 2-yr. Comm. College. All through my freshman and sophomore years at my CC I received grades "C" and above and made Dean's List twice. This past semester I took a beginning yoga class. The grade I received was an "F" and I want to know if this will affect my acceptance to UCD. This class has nothing to do with my major (Sociology) and I have 62 semester units completed with "C" or better without this class.

How did you get an F in yoga? Did you not show up to the class?

Hm, you should call Davis and ask.

Well, I joined the class late. Then in the middle of the semester I was in a car accident and couldn't make it to several class meetings which affected my attendance which affected my grade. It's a crappy situation, but I'm trying to deal with it. I just hope I don't get my admission revoked.

explain the situation.

... I also just realized that since the units didn't count on a class I took in my first year of college, I have 59 UC transferable units. I know this will work against me, but is this an automatic revocation of my admission?

lol dude i just **** my pants from hearing you got a F in yoga.

3365: Did you also **** when you saw it was because I was in a car accident? By the way, your comment was very helpful. (This is sarcasm if you didn't pick up on it.)

aggie87: i actually didnt read your post that you were in a car accident. my fault. if that werent the case i would **** my pants again.

LMFAO.
...i love this site
p.s. i hope your car accident wasn't too serious :(

Email or call the admission's office and explain it; I'm sure they won't be ridiculous about it. Just in case, try to get a quick, late start class in at your local jc. Most have tons of 1 unit computer classes or "intro to career development" type things that only take a couple of days.

smarteenangel101: It wasn't serious in that no one died, but I received two cracked ribs and the person who I was with cracked one of his ribs and two bones in his neck.

Yeah, I realize my situation was pretty strange (I know how it sounds that I flunked yoga.. I'd laugh, too). I heard back from UCD and they still want me there, so I'll be a student starting this fall.

Thanks everyone. :-)

whose fault was it?

Whose fault was what? The F? Or the accident? If you're talking about the accident, my insurance company (after talking to the other kid) said it was half his, half mine. He left and re-entered the lane right in front of me without using a turn signal, and I hit his back right end.
