I have a very low gpa 3.59 (got a D in Ap chemistry second semester of junior year which I described why in my personal insights because of family issues but passed Ap test with a 3)
I have a 1300 SAT score, 660 math, 640 english/reading
And I am from a low-income single-parent family but I don’t know if UC take these as considerations.
You have really low chances.
Is that UC GPA? What is your major?
If you want a good chance, you should get atleast 4.0+ UC GPA and 1450 SAT.
I don’t know about your EC’s and other things, but Davis sees GPA as most important.
Make sure you apply broadly- like CSU’s.
UC’s are very GPA focused so your grades will hurt your chances. SAT is within range and intended major can make a difference.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79 (capped weighted) and not major specific;
As stated above consider some of the other UC’s and Cal states. Low income and first generation are considered but their impact does make up for a lower than average GPA.
Best of luck
Thank you and yea that’s my UC GPA since UC’s do not accept D’s. I am majoring in neuroscience as I had a 270-hour internship during summer at Kansas University Medical Center mostly on the brain developments of premature babies.
If you wrote about your internship in one of your personal insight essays, it could help your chances. Sounds like you are out of state??? If so, you will not get any financial aid from UCD so you will be expected to pay $60K/year to attend. If in-state, then the UC’s can be generous with FA.
