UC Davis Admitted Students

@EmpathyInAnarchy, what about the Arbors or Lexington? Yea, I’m not too surprised that Primero Grove filled up fast.

I’m a little on the younger side too (19). What’s the average age of transfer students? Maybe I’ll be looking at Cuarto too. I hope it’s not as bad as it looks. We shall see on Transfer Day!

^ From what I can tell, you shouldn’t have too much trouble. I think both of them are taking pre-leases now. And if you don’t want to hold the lease to the apartment and don’t mind moving in with existing tenants, there are always people with existing leases looking for roommates. If you want to hold the lease yourself, you should move quickly – there won’t be many great apartments left come Fall. You should pre-lease an apartment now.

did anyone else get a call from a ucdavis student today?

I already SIRed. No love for me.

any idea how long it takes for you to recieve the admission package after you have been accepted? i still recieved it yet and i got accepted about 11-12 days ago

I received it the week after. It’s nothing special – just a big glossy pamphlet.

Hey for all of you who planning on transferring to Davis this fall, I have one huge recommendation:

Live in the dorms.

I transferred here last fall from my JC and have to say that living in the dorms was the best decision I made, simply because it allowed me to meet tons of people, feel more connected to the campus, network, and gain a good 15-20 extra pounds. (that is not a perk). This whole last year here has been a blessing and it’s given me tons of wonderful experiences. Unless you are totally concerned with getting a 4.0, hoping to be anti-social in the process, then perhaps dorm living isn’t for you. But if you’re looking to get a genuine college experiences, meet great people, and have long lasting memories, then live in the dorms!

Good luck to all of you and feel free to shoot me any questions about UCD.

where do they house transfer students who are 24 or older?

They put you in a single-student apartment.

so we’re looking at either The Arbors, The Lexington, or Primero Grove? Anyone have any experiences with The Arbors/Lexington?

^ Same question!!!

@Mt19871212-
How did you get into the dorms? My understanding is that all transfers have to live in Castillian Hall this coming semester (except for some under 20 transfers, supposedly).

Castilian is a dorm idiot

@slowmotion-
No it’s not. It’s a suite-style apartment building. Segundo and Tercero are dorms. I’m just wondering if Mt19871212 was somehow living with freshmen.

i visited castilian during decision day and it must say it was kinda crappy. made me feel like i would die if i lived there. not so much on the outside, but just the interior and the furniture it comes with and etc. and it seems pretty secluded too. since its suite style you mainly only see the people you live with

ucd students count castilian (and cuarto as a whole) as a dorm as there is no kitchen inside the suite.

…or instead of castilian, you guys could come and share a 1br apartment with a nice quiet girl (me) next year! Rent would be $450/month with a Washer/dryer in unit!! along with fridge/microwave/dishwasher/stove/etc.

pix and more information available, just ask!

//end shameless shameless plug

anyone looking at the online catalog to choose classes ?
if you are a UC Davis student share ur favorite classes and professors. Also warn which one we should avoid :)

^ I haven’t had a lot of time to. I plan on doing it sometime before orientation. I’ve already bookmarked the catalog though.

I should actually write a paper now but I need a little motivation so I look through all the classes offered :slight_smile: In another word, procrastinate
