^ Ouch! Roasted.

That leaves him no chance !

^Noooo don’t say that! If he has no chance, then that means that the trick we found was completely wrong (he’s getting the “sorry” message)! :(

@ssholes…

@ghibli Forget it. Don’t take it seriously. Since you already got the “Sorry” message, plus your gpa is right within the range as UC Davis wants, I would say you will most likely be accepted. I know you have some troubles of your major prereqs that being taken, but keep in mind that UC davis is always lenient when it comes to the major prereqs. Anyways, good luck. you will be fine!

@tccom Unless its for an impacted major. A buddy of mine with a 3.9 received the appeal form with two missing pre-reqs for engineering.

Thanks tcccom.

@ghiblijiang I’m sorry I’m being so mean!

@ghiblijiang: Dude, you should be fine. You said that SB and UCR changed their bio series for your CCC so that would explain your rejections there. As long as Davis didn’t do the same (which it doesn’t look like it did), you should be accepted. Don’t worry about it too much.

@HopingToXfer: Engineering is very big on prereqs at Davis. Especially if it’s impacted like Bio eng, Mech eng, or aerospace eng. They clearly state that missing 3 or more prereqs is grounds for automatic rejection. Even 2 missing prereqs undermines an engineering applicant’s application by a LOT. The GPA is only taken into consideration if the prereqs are in place.

@hopingtoxfer

oh wait, 3.9 still got rejected? Probably you are right. When I scanned the previous decision thread, there were quite a lot of people getting accepted with missing prereqs. Since I applied for Economics, I would say missing one or two prereqs (usually calculus) is not a big deal. But for Biology-based major or engineering, it will be really hard to say. I also believe that if people applied for poli sci or history, or even psychology (which is impacted), missing just a few prereqs will still be competitive.

I talked to a Davis adcom last summer and they stated that they don’t check major prereqs for Unimpacted majors (ie all majors except for Bio majors, engineering majors, psych, and international relations).

Impacted majors are a completely different story. Missing a single prereq (especially for engineering) has the potential to completely kick you out of the running for admission.

I believe Ms. Sun confirmed this on one of the older threads too, so there ya go. That explains the high-GPA people receiving appeal forms.

Also, can more people post if they’re receiving an appeal form? It’ll help add to the information we’re gathering here and it’ll certainly help applicants in future cycles as well. Thanks!

So decisions for uc Davis comes out April 19th? Ahh…!!

Yeap, they come out on the 19th. That’s exactly 12 days away!

Same day as UCLA!!

I hear UCSD’s new batch is going to be April 19th as well. 3 colleges in one day! My nerves :(

Historically, UCSD’s been around 12pm (?), Davis has been from 3pm-4pm, and LA has been at 5pm.

I already heard from UCSD… but I have also read they go by major and the most impacted major there (molecular biology/biology/engineering) will come out last batch… ahh If i get into davis… Im going to have one hell of a hard time choosing which school to attend… ***… lol but april 19th needs to come out ASAP!!

@basedgod I actually heard the opposite. I heard UCSD doesn’t admit by major (excluding impacted majors).

OH. well idk… i read somewhere on the ucsd thread that they did… but I may just be wrong :p

I know that if you apply to an impacted major and get denied to the major, but still have a competitive GPA, UCSD will take you in as “Undeclared”. Atleast that’s how it is for freshman… not sure how that plays out for transfers though.
