UC Davis Decision on MyAwards

Just got off the phone with UC Davis. They told me that the RSVP form for Decision UC Davis is available to all applicants, not just admitted people. The system doesn’t check your admission status when you go to RSVP on the their page, it just lets you through.

However, I asked them about the appeals form and who would be able to access it and the representative replied that only rejected students would be able to access the form. Then I told her that some people had access to the Appeals Form and that others were getting the “Sorry, only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision” message. When I made the suggestion that this could be a premature indication of our admission decision, she refused to elaborate further and simply insisted that only rejected students would be able to access that form and the rest of them wouldn’t be able to see it.

I’ll leave it up to you guys to make what you want of it now. :P

MyAwards: Not satisfied
I can also view the appeals page…
Materials Science and Engineering 3.19

I really really hope I get in. I have had such a hell of a time trying to get in.

Can we determine if its only people who have tagged that are getting “Sorry, only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision.” It would make me feel alot better if that is the case.

cinnabon123,i wish that’s true!

@cinnabon, so that means if we get the message, we’re in? If that’s true, I might go visit UCD over spring break (from LA) to check out the campus. I don’t want to choose the wrong UC just because I didn’t have the time to look at all the campuses I applied to.

It can also mean you’re waitlisted mermaker. I hope I’m in.

I don’t have a TAG and I’m getting the “Sorry only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision” message.

And yes, as of right now, if you can access the appeals page, it probably means that you’ve been rejected. If you receive the sorry message, it could mean that you’ve been accepted or waitlisted.

This “trick” is directly from the Admissions website so it makes sense that we’re able to acces this stuff already. The FAFSA trick involves the Financial Aid office and so the Admissions office needs to forward the list of admitted/waitlisted applicants to them before our FAFSA statuses change to “Satisfied”. This should happen sometime over the next week or so.

Good luck everyone!

@riot75 I didn’t tag.

@Riot75 I did not TAG, and I get the “Sorry” message. Sorry man.

@Riot75

I think you should probably just accept that only rejected applicants can view the appeals page. It says that on the website, it was confirmed over the phone, and most people that can view it have lower GPAs or applied to competitive majors. I have a 3.17 GPA, but my major is not selective and is in the school of agriculture. I do not have TAG and I cannot view the appeals form.

@Riot75

Yeah, sorry man. It definitely looks like you got rejected. :confused: You can always appeal though, if you really really want to go to Davis.

@chelsiemorning: I also applied with a 3.17 GPA to Physics (I get the “Sorry” message) so it looks like this whole speculation is correct.

Thanks guys…

It just really sucks because I applied as a freshman for electrical and was not accepted. Decided to attend cc for a couple years and then TAG to Davis. The year I was planning on transfer is the year they bumped up the GPA requirement. I think I had a 3.24 at that point so just barely below the cutoff. Applied through normal admissions and wasnt accepted. Appealed and was denied. Changed majors this year to Materials Science and Engineering because it should be slightly less competitive and after taking a class in it I found it to be really interesting. I am still hopeful but after seeing that people are getting the “sorry” message it seems obvious I wasnt accepted. bleh.

Yeah, but I doubt I got waitlisted. Non selective major, all prerequisites completed, and my GPA is all right for my major. 3.54 (will be 3.7 after spring). I doubt any of you will get waitlisted, unless you’re a borderline applicant.

I don’t have TAG either

15 more days guys and it’s official!

I checked, and I got the “Sorry” message too. But I’m still paranoid. Right now I think I’m safe, but is it still possible that UCD will still post the appeal form next a couple of days?

It’s possible, but it’s better than being rejected already, right?

I get the “sorry” message with ~ 3.36, computer science, all prereqs done by spring (1 left), no TAG

Definitely possible, but highly unlikely. The closer we get to the 19th, the higher your chances of being “definitely accepted” become. I’m guessing they’re done with evaluating 90%+ of all the transfer apps.

I am getting the “sorry” message too. Davis sent me an email at the end of January stating they were reviewing my application and needed more info about something. So, for my situation, I know MY application has been reviewed. Also, I did not tag.

I got the “Sorry” message, but also my fin aid says Not Satisfied. I have a 3.8, but I also am not finished with Pre reqs. I’m not too worried I already got into a school I would go to though, and I did NOT tag. I also applied for Environmental science

@cinnabon

yeah dude i got the “sorry” message haha

^Awesome! I now have no doubt in my mind whatsoever about this trick being legitimate. Congrats to all who have the “Sorry” message!
