@lyonsbot Ohmygosh I can only imagine how hard that is going to be to transition from seeing him every day to only sometimes. ): Davis is so far. It really will be a good experience though. Don’t worry about the social thing, you have your priorities straight. I like to go to bars but I never get crazy. I’m on the same boat as you, I hope to make a really close group of friends once I transfer. So far I’ve made acquaintances here and there but usually once the semester is over everyone goes their separate ways. I hope that’s different at university.
Oh goodness that is expensive. ): If aid covers it I’d take a class but if not I’ll probably just wait till Fall.
And definitely!
@sammycatt Yeah it will be hard, but I am ready for it. He and I have been through so much, I think time apart will be a good thing. Yes, thats how it is at my school, too! Everyone does go their separate ways-- I think that will be different at a UC school. I feel like most everyone wants to be at a UC/university opposed to CC. Everyone just wants to transfer and get out! We will be around people who are into the same major and who are going through similar schooling and have similar future goals so it will be easier to relate and get to know people! Lol. I hear people at Davis have a lot of school pride, too.
Look into it for sure! I am not totally sure how it works, but I think the deadline is the 30th for aide? I would call them on monday to check on it.
@lyonsbot Yeah, if anything it will make you two stronger, as cliché as that sounds. Then when you do see each other it will be really special. I honestly love my CC (Pasadena City College) and am going to be reallyyyy sad to leave. I wish it was a University because I just love it so much. Nonetheless, I am so over GE courses! I can’t wait to only do Psychology, and finally feel like I’m really specializing in something. As you said, it will also be really nice to be around others who share the same interests. I actually have no friends who are Psychology majors. ): Also, about the school pride, I’m actually kind of excited for that. I used to make fun of it when I was younger but now the idea of going someplace with a bunch of school spirit sounds fun.
ADMITTED!!
Major: Managerial Economics
GPA: 3.17
TAG: No
IGETC: completed
Pre-reqs: Done except for Stats
Applied: UCSB UCSC, UCLA UCI, UCR
Accepted: Davis
feels good!
@isaganilagundino Where does it tell you about regents?
help!
will UCD rescind my application? I was unable to get two classes this quarter that are major pre-reqs. In addition, I was taking a class at a school that was semester system and coincided with many of my quarter system classes, so I had to drop the semester class with a W. Will Davis rescind my acceptance? I applied CS in the letters and sciences, which isn’t impacted
does anyone know how to check if we got regents from UCD? I went into the financial aid page and do not see anything. Does this mean that I’m not offered regents?
@isaganilagundino @doitformadden @giraffinyoucrazy yeah I’m also curious about regents! does anyone know about how to find out? also is our financial awards package complete or will it be updated at a later date? I got an email last week about the middle class scholarship saying something about how I might be qualified, but I don’t see anything about it in my own financial awards package.
oh and also has anyone gotten an invite to the honors program yet? my gpa qualifies but i haven’t heard anything about it from ucd
Does anyone know if anyone got off the waitlist with a strong 200 word essay?
@autumnfairy according to the site the invites are handed out at the beginning of summer (according to the site anyway)
@StoneTower Oh okay thanks for your help!
@StoneTower @autumnfairy : Not sure which site stonetower is talking about. https://admissions.ucdavis.edu/cost/regents_scholarship.cfm says that the notifications will come out mid to late april
http://honors.ucdavis.edu/prospective/index.html
I think I got it from here, but I made a mistake anyway. Woops.~
@giraffinyoucrazy @StoneTower Hmm okay so do you think I would have to apply on my own if I haven’t received any email? I would like to get priority registration for Fall if possible that’s why T_T
I emailed UC Davis, and someone in the scholarship office stated that if you don’t have the regents scholarship under your financial aid reward then you were not selected.
@autumnfairy From the link I posted:
Can transfers students participate in the University Honors Program?
“Yes. All Regents Scholars are invited to take part in UHP programming, including transfer students. In addition, qualifying transfer students will be notified if they have been invited to apply to the University Honors Program at the beginning of the Summer. Transfer students who participate in the honors program receive full honors privileges.”
That’s where I got the “beginning of summer” thing. Apparently at the beginning of summer you’ll receive something asking you to apply. Also from here: http://honors.ucdavis.edu/transfers/index.html
“All incoming Regents Scholars are invited to join the UHP, and transfer students with a GPA of 3.50 or above will be invited to apply.”
Hi, Aggies!
I’m transferring to UC Davis this upcoming fall semester as an economics major with a 3.15 GPA (I know, right)? Unfortunately, I accidentally made a mistake in my UC application and noted that I got an A in a history class while I actually got a B. Does anyone have any insight on if they would rescind my acceptance over something involving just one grade like this? I obviously updated MyAdmissions but I’m a little nervous as well. Thanks!
@StoneTower Oh okay phew that sounds like good news. Thanks so much!
@FUTUREUCLABRUIN1 Ohh I see that’s a bit disappointing But congratulations to whoever received Regents!
