i did study at ucsb for one year in 2012-2013 year, but i deferred out and have been at ARC ever since. will that affect my chances of transferring into UCD?
Hey I’m new here and getting SUPER anxious about the admission decision in a few weeks!! I was wondering about IGETC, I just finished all my classes for the IGETC last semester but I am not sure how/where to submit to UC Davis… I’m nervous that if they don’t have an official whatever from the counselor I may denied for that… Is this something they look for? Should I go into the counseling office or is it too late by now?
You don’t submit IGETC certification until you get admitted. It’s due by July 15. It’s a separate process so make sure you request it when you apply to have transcripts sent.
Good luck!
Nice! Thank you, I’m racking my brain for anything I might have missed that will affect my chances of getting in- I was not worried at all until like last week
@statrans yep. Yep. Yep.
Hey everyone! So looking back at previous UCD transfer posts, it seems like people have been checking their UCD financial aid package to see if they have been accepted or not prior to their official acceptance letter in their web portal.
Here is the website: https://financialaid.ucdavis.edu/MyAwards/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fMyAwards%2f
If you guys click on the “requirements” tab, it shows you the status of your financial aid package. Mine says “completed.” Just of out curiosity, does anyone have their status saying “satisfied” or “not satisfied”
mine says completed
Mine says complete for FAFSA and for Title IV Fund.
Is it the same for you two? @pcclancer26 and @500daysofjcam1
Pcclancer26, I also go to PCC lol
Awesome! I’m not sure when the status changes. Last year’s students got either “satisfied” or “not satisfied”
It could just mean that UCD has received your FAFSA…
This is the link to last year’s admissions thread page: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1630361-uc-davis-fall-2014-transfer-decisions-p10.html
There were some people within the thread that argued back that the “financial aid trick” does not necessarily mean you have been admitted before the actual admission release date; however, looking at the final threads on that page I linked, looks like the people who did see their financial aid status as either “satisfied” or “not satisfied” knew beforehand whether they have been accepted or not.
mines says completed as well ^^
Time to consult the chi chi sticks and the magic 8 ball…
mine says Complete too but don’t think it’s a sign tho lol bc the date is 2/2 2015
Hey guys I have 2 questions for you!
1)I applied to UCD with a 3.23 GPA, but after fall quarter I ended up with 3.11 GPA. People have told me that the updated GPA was just to make sure students didn’t fail their classes and it didn’t really affect the students’ chances. Is this true?
You have to take the english comp and critical thinking area 1b. Personally, I would stay at CCC another year and boost your GPA. Time goes by fast. By next sept you’ll be doing TAG and then the app in November.
If you can get it in this spring do it, but it needs to be the correct English course. Since you don’t have it listed in TAU, assume you will get rejected. You could appeal with it completed.
I have been told by Davis counselor that I seem to be in good shape so I am not really certain what to do.
I am confused because the IGETC worksheet says that theres a specific courses I can take(https://www.deanza.edu/transfer/pdf/ge_igetc.pdf), but according to assist.org the Philosophy class I took satisfies the requirement(http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=tca&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=26&ia=DAC&ay=14-15&arc=N&dora=PHIL). Now I am confused what to believe because I took Phil 4.
Phil 3 does but phil 4 seems to just be critical thinking without comp component.
Did you mean phil 3? Because that fulfills 1b.
