Uc davis fall 2016 transfer thread

@bolognese When I spoke to admissions regarding my course changes, I just randomly asked them and said after 1st quarter you can submit a change of major. But am not sure if it’s 100% guarantee. For me, I already have all major pre-reqs done for psychology, that’s why I want to switch to it. They put me under Human development and the coursework don’t seem interesting to me.

For Calculus, I am considering the 17 series. “Calculus for Biology and Medicine”. Based on description it is not as dense as the engineering/physics series. But they wanted me to take the placement exam and score 35 and higher to be placed in it. I am a bad test taker. well, then i guess I have to ditch calculus and aim for Med schools that don’t require it. I do good in calculus, it’s just the process of placing you, is very difficult and annoying.

On the list of transcripts I need to send to UCD in myadmissions, it lists some of the colleges I went to twice. I thought that maybe if they receive one of my transcripts, the repeated school would disappear as they would figure out they accidently listed the school twice, but the duplicate is still up there. I’m afraid that come around July when the transcripts are due, they’ll think i’m technically missing a transcript even though it’s just a duplicate error on their end. Dumb, I know, but I want to make sure they correct their mistake. Who do I call about this? Just general admissions?

@boxandwhiskers

Call them and ask! I have credits from two colleges and they both appear twice. Let me know what they say :stuck_out_tongue: they seem to have a lot of errors with their system so it’s probably something dumb on their end

Oh and yeah just call the admissions office and press one on the option menu for “general admissions questions”

@boxandwhiskers My college is listed 5 times… loll But i guess once they receive my transcript, all slots would turn to “received” Like @bolognese said, it may just be a dumb mistake on their end booo

Do the people who submit their housing application first get first priority to what type of housing they receive?

@futureuctransfer No. Housing becomes available to everyone on the same day. They also pick 2-3 apartments, offer them to you, and you pick which ones you want from the ones they offer to you.

@boxandwhiskers Thats what I also know! That they all release them in july for us to choose our floor plan. The other day I called Lexington and the dude was telling me that they are all full for the fall. It really disturbed me, cuz how come its already full and choices hasn’t been released yet? I think he mis-recognized me as a student or something!

Oh thank goodness! I was so worried if I didn’t pay fast I would have a chance at getting a single apartment! Well I hope the apartments will be available because I don’t want to share a bathroom lol

@futureuctransfer lol Have you found your roommates yet? there are plenty of single bedrooms with private baths <:-P

So how many roommates are you supposed to find for SHA?

I already found one through RoomSync but I’m not sure if we’re supposed to find another person or what…

@bolognese However many you want. If you get a third roommate, the only downside is someone’s not going to have their own bathroom.

@bolognese lol I think you are my roommate

@boxandwhiskers

Does your first name start with an A and your last name start with a G?

lol…if so…this is funny

@bolognese haha YES IT DOES

What a world.

we are ~soulroomies~

@bolognese :x What a wacky coincidence this turned out to be.

Does the roommate finder let you pick by traits? Like if the person is quiet ?

loll what a wonderful accident up there ^.

@futureuctransfer Roomsync kind of suggest people that are close to your preference. But you can cherry pick your roommate if you wanted to hahah

As transfer students applying to the SHA, what do you think about Meal Plans? I really would rather not get one…
It’s convenient, but my gosh it’s expensive.

@SuSuSuSweets I think meal plans are designed for freshman who left their mamas and got no one to cook for them or feed them. :stuck_out_tongue: Lolll Jk… Anyways, its up to you. Yes they are convenient, but like you said super expensive. For my opinion, I’d rather not have a meal plan. If I cook/buy food myself, I am sure it will cost me less than the dinning option.
