@UCSChopefully I don’t know how likely it is to get off the wait-list but in deciding whether or not you want to be on it, it depends how badly you want to go to UC Davis. Keep in mind that they usually tell people on the wait-list after June 1st so you will most likely have to SIR to a different school before you find out. Also, from what I remember, UC Davis gives you time to decide whether or not you want to add yourself to the wait-list and in the meantime, you can see which other schools you get into and decide from there.
@DocCbas I am an international student too. And I think we have to pay more than $40,000 a year. There is no way I can pay that all by myself. My family will have to pay. Also, I got the regents email back in December but I didn’t apply, because I get dumb af sometimes
Accepted for English with 3.88 gpa!
@UCSChopefully I was on the waitlist last year for freshman. Out of the 3200 or so that accepted their waitlist offer, less than 50 were admitted. I’m not sure if it’d be the same for transfers, but just keep it in mind.

I was invited to apply for Regents but decided not to since I figured I wouldn’t get it - the only thing I had really going for me was my GPA (with completion of my CC’s honors program) and the fact that I live about an hour away from Davis (I heard somewhere that they tend to accept students who are closer, at least when I was a freshman and applied/got accepted). I didn’t really do any ECs, only worked part-time jobs and did about 60 hours of volunteering at my local library starting this past summer. I probably should have applied anyway, but honestly, Davis is and has always been a back-up/last choice for me in terms of their English program. Still waiting on Irvine to release financial aid info so I’m not sure where I’m going yet, but Davis is a definite no at this point (Berkeley actually offered a little more in financial aid).
Anyway, wow - it’s been a wild ride. Best wishes to everyone reading this!

@frazi78 Where did you see that they said they were impressed with your application, just curious as I don’t know do they put that in an email or is it on the portal?
There is a FAQ about the wait list for transfers and one question and answer say:
Q: How likely is it that I will be admitted to UC Davis from the waitlist?
A: Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict how many students might be admitted from the waitlist. The number of students admitted from the waitlist is entirely determined by the number of student responses to our initial offers of admission. The campus admits students with the expectation that the transfer class will be filled without offering admission to students who accepted the waitlist opportunity.
Here is the whole FAQ https://www.ucdavis.edu/admissions/undergraduate/transfer/waitlist
Congrats to those admitted.

@Lockable When did you hear from SD?
Typo. False alarm guys. I’m currently 2 for 2 (Accepted to UCI and UCD) hence why I wrote all. But I’m still waiting for UCSD. Sorry guys! Sucks UCI doesn’t show our financial package while UCD does right away
Did everyone get the “We were very impressed by your application and would be honored to have you as a member of our UC Davis community.” when they got the acceptance email? Just wondering lol
I have a stupid question.
If regents receivers decide to decline admission to UCD, then what will happen to those scholarships? Are they going to reward other students?
