Wasn't UCI ranked higher than Davis last year?

yes, and the year before

To be honest, I didn't expect Davis to get enough points to surpass UCI by a little. Something happened this year. UCI was supposed to stay competitive with UCD if anything. We opened a few new popular majors and a law school. On top of that, our sports teams gained huge recognition. Oh well, rankings aren't worth worrying about if you know the true quality behind each school.

theyre just rankings.

Yeah, I was surprised too. Although I didnt think we would shoot up by a lot.

Part of the problem is the newness of the school. Its still going through growing pains and I imagine the way the rankings are set up, it is hard to maintain status when things like student/faculty ratios might increase temporarily or oncampus student housing ratios drop too.

Heck, if chancellor Drake can muscle in a law school when one of the deciding agencies agencies voted against it, I am pretty bullish on his other plans of making UCI a top 1% school.

airportconnectio. Do you have something against UC Davis? I checked your other posts and basically all you do is copy and paste "acceptance rates" and "SAT scores" as if the data proved that other UC's are better and should be ranked higher than UC Davis.

Acceptance rate depends on how many people apply and the campus size. If the same amount of number apply for two UCs, but if one UC campus can take in more student's, then the acceptance rate for that UC will be higher. It doesn't prove the college is any less prestigious than the others. The SAT scores you listed are all within 100 points of each other. A 100 point difference doesn't prove that a student is smarter or better prepared for college than another another student. I'm glad UC davis doesnt play this small number game and trying to raise their SAT score acceptance average by 100 just to look better. They have the brains to know that there are more important factors that can better determine whether a student will succeed or not.

That being said, im curious. Did you get rejected?

JimmyAndCo, I'd honestly let this one go. We all know UCD has a great reputation. I don't ned to even elaborate. There are a few people like airportconnectio on these forums. I'm sure everyone knows who I'm talking about. Anyway, just leave this person be.

oh my god. this is seriously atleast your 10th time posting this. get over it.
