UC Davis Transfer 2016 Waitlist Thread

Based on past years threads it looks like at least one of use would’ve heard by now so I think it’ll be Monday when most of the decisions are released. Unless they release over the weekend?

Guess we will be hearing the first wave on Monday.

Yah… That seems to be the case. Hopefully we will find out tomorrow. On a side note, I wonder how many people opt’d in for the waitlist.?.

I hope enough opted in such that we all can get admissions. I know freshmen and transfers are different, but the freshmen thread seemed quite generous in admissions. I wish the same for transfers.

Well, if they follow last years trend, a high percentage would be admitted. I wonder if they alert only admitted students within the first wave, leaving probable students for the later waves depending on who accepts their admittance.

2800 people are on the transfer waitlist for this year. I asked them a while back.

@JustaSimpleQ If its anything like last year. 1671~ would be admitted and 935~ would SIR.

Anyone heard anything yet? It’s the 6th now and according to last years thread candidates were receiving a response on the third…

(Nutrition science, sophomore transfer applicant, GPA: 3.54) Missing Chem + Bio.

Maybe they’ll start releasing later throughout the day?

I just called and they said, “We don’t know the exact day, but we will start releasing decisions sometime this week.” I don’t really think he knew what he was talking about and that really didn’t help.

I just found out that I received a 4.0 for spring (for the fifth consecutive term). I wish I could update my grades…Is it possible to do so?

Yup, I just called and the lady told me, “Hopefully by the end of the week, after we are done with our Freshmen applicants.” So they still aren’t done with Freshmen, which is kind of lame on their part, as Freshmen were supposed to receive their response by June 1st. So we probably won’t be hearing from them til late this week or early next week.

Dudes I’ve been waiting and checking my email all week and just now I got a email from UC Davis Undergrad. Admissions and I immediately click on it… I read more and it was just an informative email on all the research opportunities!! Got my blood pumping.

Like @urallsad said, not all freshman have been notified yet, including myself. I have to say that it is incredibly irresponsible of UC Davis for basically promising that they would be finished by June 1st, and now it’s June 6th and we still got nothing. I really hope that person @urallsad talked to on the phone is telling the truth that freshman will get their responses by the end of this week because I’ve heard that line said countless times by the staff over the month of May.

This is probably the most stressed I’ve ever been in all of my high school career. ;_;

@calculunch don’t stress out too much man. This is just one step in your life and 20 years from now you wont mind if you did or didn’t get into Davis. I’m sure we are all stressed out, but this decision shouldn’t make or break any of us. If worst comes to worst, community college is a great place to go and will save you some money. Good luck.

It does seem weird that UC Davis isn’t done with the freshman yet. I wonder if there are some budget problems this year.

The budget is actually supposed to be much larger for California residents this year than last year (regarding transfer admissions).

@Mbest16 Yup, that is true. The UC system even extended the deadline to apply from the end of November to late December/early January to allow for more applicants.

Hey guys!
I’m also a transfer student on the waitlist & have been a emailing a close friend who works in admission & just wanted to share this email with you all:

"The Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) deadline was June 1, so we have just recently begun to assess how many admitted transfer student decided to attend this fall.

We will be informing wait-listed students throughout this month and next if we will be able to consider their updated applications for fall admission. Please be patient, remain hopeful…"

Do you guys think they’ll actually consider admissions through the waitlist statement? I think i have a pretty awesome essay but idk if it’ll have any impact.

@universityforme I don’t think it is as important as when you are initially applying to the school, but I still think that it can make an impact to your waitlist decision.
