@OT1999 well I do agree with you lol, I think only a handful of us will get accepted, sadly
Sooo did anyone that got accepted reserve their spot at orientation yet? cuz I tried to sign up and it said the transfer orientation deadline passedā¦
Iām at risk for getting my application rescinded because I received a GPA of 2.0 last semester. They were all non-major classes and I got Cās in all. Do you think they will cancel my acceptance or do they usually only cancel those with Ds and Fs?
To those who havent gotten a response yet:
Is it even worth it anymore? Getting accepted at this point means that we may not even get all the classes we need and we get left with the housing units nobody else wants. What do you guys think???
@universityforme damn you have a point there. But honestly idk about you transfers but Iām a freshman and Iāve been lurking these forums since the beginning of May or maybe even April. Iāve invested a good amount of my time researching who has gotten in and talking with people about this topic that Iām not gonna back down now. Itās do or die
Yeah, it would definitely be worth it to get in this year. I live in SF and I plan on commuting, so housing really isnāt an issue for me. I would love to take my courses at Davis this fall, however, if I donāt make it, Berkeley is my first choice for next fall. I will be taking 20 units this fall In order to meet Berkeleys minimum required lower division courses to transfer, I would much rather avoid taking 20 units at a CC (potentially risk compromising my gpa) and do the work in four quarters at Davis in order to transfer to Berkeley.
Like Iāve mentioned, Iām pretty doubtful that I will make it in this year, Iāve come to terms with that. Iām just shocked I made it on the wait list; my 1000 word essay is what probably got me through, because there are several errors in my app and I applied with 36 transferable units-now 50.
Iām sure my GPA had something to with it also (maybe).
Despite me coming to terms with the looming rejection, Iām still obsessed with learning about the candidates who made it through!
Post your credentials when you hear the news this week!
@Mbest16 I dont think UCD reads PS . Only 4-5 UCs actually reads them for transfers
@Mbest16 Only because you asked:
was accepted off the waitlist on June 9th around 4:45pm
Sociology major with 3.52gpa; I didnāt have my credits finished and theyāre letting me finish during the summer (Iām taking 4units)
I know I got very lucky and am beyond grateful!
@Loyshi Apparently the length of your PS does have an impact on your overall appāmeasured by effort.
@Mbest16 I was accepted off the waitlist on June 9 @ 4:45pm
Currently a second year Statistics major with 5.58 gpa Iām 2.5 units away from the 90 unit requirements so Iām taking a 4 unit class over summer!
Everyone ready for that second wave!?! lmao
Iām curious to see if any ones page has changedā¦
Gosh Iāve been checking in and out of this page to see if anyone else is getting off the waitlist. Just a heads up, Iām a sophomore transfer and I was admitted as a Global Disease biology major and I signed up for orientation and everything. Thereās been a deadline for orientation and housing applications. For those of who are still waiting, you all might not be able to attend orientation
@JustaSimpleQ Thatās what I said!!! I was worried about that because the deadline for transfer orientation was June 6 .
My page hasnāt changed yet @Mbest16
@universityforme Yea. Some people who got admitted from the waitlist canāt even go to orientation because they didnāt sign up soon enough. I signed up and completed everything the day I got admitted (and I was at work and did it all on my phone! So itās sorta on those people for not getting with it).
Anyways I feel as though if your pages donāt change to the āunder reviewā then it probably isnāt a good sign D: Iām still surprised I actually got admitted as a sophomore, I thought it was a rarity but I guess not.
But good luck to all of you guys and I truly mean it, Iād be ripping my hair out if I had to wait this long
Does anyone else see this on their page: āWe will notify you of our final admission decision by email and on this website no later than June 1.ā
I donāt think it was June 1 initially. Iām a transfer student :-t ~X(
@UCD_CS2016 my page also says that.
I updated my grades on 6-8 and every time I click to āupdate my gradesā a message still appears stating that the changes are being processed.
If Iām remembering correctly, the page initially stated āafter June 1stāā¦
Well it looks like decisions are not going to come out until next week or laterā¦
