@c0llegeguy Did you get into UC SB with comp sci? I got rejected but offered math as an alternate. That’s probably what I’m pursuing. Also got denied Santa Cruz… had a 3.7 GPA too but missed a prereq
@UnimportantHaiku I got into UCSB and Davis too for Linguistics though my top choice is still UCLA 5 more days ugh. If I don’t get in to UCB or UCLA I’m leaning more towards Davis. What about you?
@ayylmaoooo Ooo that’s awesome ! Santa Barbara looks amazing and honestly with any kind of math degree you can be a programmer. Just need to do some side stuff to sharpen your skills and get a github going. So yes! See you there fam
Comm major.
Gpa 3.94
In state.
IGETC complete.
Was invited to apply for Regents. Submitted application. Only cost to me per year is 5,000 in student loan built into my aid package BUT if I get Regents it will be a free ride.
Hi guys! Been lurking for some time now and wanted to share my results:
Waitlisted (got the Regents email)
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 4.0
Applied: UCD, UCSD, UCLA, UCB
IGETC: Completed
Major requirements: Not completed (think this is mostly why). Missing Calc III and the last 2 physics courses
Personal insights: 8/10? Had them checked multiple times by a transfer coordinator and one time by a UCB admissions officer
ECs: English, Maths, and CS Tutor, UCB Summer Enrichment Program participant (1 of ~30 selected from CCCs to take a course at UCB free of charge over the summer. Ended up withdrawing because I wasn’t doing so hot and am cognizant of the 3.3 GPA required to declare for the CS major. My only W), UI/UX designer for a trading journal project, member of psychology and CS clubs, etc. Not great honestly
I made the potential mistake of focusing too hard on UCB for one of my personal insight questions (the major question). I said that I completed all requirements (which is true for UCB but not UCD or the other campuses I applied to), so I would try to avoid this. But who knows, maybe my “put all eggs in one basket” strategy might work out.
Congratulations to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone else!
we should hear started june 1 and no later than june 30 for waitlist just looked it up. remember to accept your waitlist offer though, you only have until may 15 for that.
first post on here, I’ve been lurking these threads for months now, but didn’t have the courage to post my stats since they were a bit low compared to the ones I would usually see on here.

TAG: Yes
IGETC/Pre-reqs: Completed
EC’s: Some leadership positions on Student Government, President of a club I founded, some work experience as a tutor, no research yet as a STEM major.
Hi guys… I’ve been lurking on all the UC posts for a while now but this is my first time posting bc I’m devastated. I was waitlisted for UCD, and it was my #2 choice so it hit hard (btw congrats to all those who were accepted. I heard you guys got confetti!) My stats weren’t extraordinarily impressive, but at a 3.89 for a nonimpacted major (political science), I thought I at least stood a decent chance… guess not.
Is there any way or anyone I could contact from UCD to ask why I was placed on the waitlist? No salt, okay a little bit of salt, but I honestly just want to know the reason.
Major: Cognitive Science with emphasis in Computer Science

IGETC/Pre-Reqs: Completed

@booseoksoon I applied to an unimpacted major too but with a much lower gpa and was just flat out rejected. I’m pretty disappointed because I know some other people with similarly low gpas and unimpacted majors who either got waitlisted or accepted so I really just want to know what I did wrong.
