UC Davis Transfer Fall 2018--Discussion Post

Now we wait to hear back about Regents

@lialec wait where did you see the Regents?? Please lmk. I submitted my Regents app on tuesday and I didn’t see anything on the acceptance letter

Waitlist with 3.26 (3.3 after TAU)
All pre reqs done
IGETC done

@lialec Nvm just saw your second post. Do you mind saying when you submitted the Regents app?

Got accepted earlier and mine doesn’t say anything about regents in the acceptance letter. It does mention I was accepted to EOP.

Who’s a Man Econ major??? Let’s all link up for orientation or something!

@goodBrujo9 i know all i could find is that they have a really great LGBTQ+ resource center, and they host a bunch of events it looks like. I heard its suppose to be a very lgbt friendly campus

Sooo guys I’m assuming that since only one person on this thread got a notification about Regents, they’re not done sending out results yet. I personally turned it in the last day possible, and seeing as how that was only 3 days ago, I’m sure the committee is still looking through all off the Regents apps to make a final decision. Btw I’m surprised at how many people got the invite lol

@ericbadmon I hope you’re right! I was able to see my financial aid package, and I’m pleased with it, but I really want the Regents. I’m pretty sure that veterans get priority registration as it is, but having the opportunity to work alongside faculty is really appealing.

Hi, @srafiq I’m not sure whether the missing unofficial transcript had anything to do with the waitlist placement, but the same thing happened to me and I was able to submit a copy of my official transcripts last Monday through the webform link they’ve sent when I’ve got their request. And I still got my “Congrats, you’re in” email today. So, my advice would be to get a copy of those transcripts and submit them asap, or at least provide a reasonable explanation as of why you cannot obtain those transcripts. Best of luck!

Honestly, guys, don’t wait on the Regents for UC Davis. I’m in the same boat as you guys, so I called the Scholarship office to ask about it. They told me that they only give it to 60 people, out of everybody that gets accepted (freshmen and transfers.) I have friends that got the Trustee’s scholarship at USC and the Regents at UCLA, but not at Davis. Also, if nothing has shown up on our portal by now, we probably won’t end up getting it.

@glowgoglow I really hope that Vets do get a priority registration. Priority registration was a life saver at CC.

@BBoy99 thanks for the info- I think the reason why I felt that it was up in the air is because there was no rejection. I’d like my rejection:P

@rkhayd I saw that UC Davis is pretty highly rated among vets, so let’s hope! Priority registration is amaaaaazing

Checked my financial aid and I pretty much have everything covered but the student health insurance which I don’t even need… niceeeeee B-)

Someone make the group chat/page!

@waiting4answer if you mean an admitted page, there’s already an official one on Facebook for class of 2020

Just saw on the UCD Reddit that someone recieved an email stating they were accepted as a regents scholar. I’m guessing that if we didn’t recieve the offer with our admission then we probably won’t be offered it at all :frowning:

@BBoy99 The reason why I think it’s worth waiting for is cuz it was only due three days ago. I doubt that they are able to make decisions that early for everyone. But who knows. Either way tho there’s nothing to lose by simply waiting

Accepted!

@ohbeebee I just find it hard to believe they were able to make all decisions that fast. If only 60 people get picked, then I feel like that would take even longer to make sure they know they’re picking the right people. And with the amount of people that got selected on this thread alone, I’d imagine there are plenty of apps to look thru. I guess we’ll find out for sure on Monday when they’re back to work. But imho I don’t think that hope is gone quite yet.
