I've calculated my unit total, and the total is going to be 109 units if I am to finish all GE requirements and prerequisites. I was researching about transferring to UCD and came across a 120 unit limitation. I took 7 AP exams back in high school, and the credit for it will put me way over 120. What kind of role does the AP credit play in transferring? I also entered in the exam scores for TAG at my community college for fall 2013 (which put me at 99 units at the time of application), and I'm also unsure as to how that plays a role in the TAG approval process.

Question 5:

Question: Does UC Davis have a transfer unit limit?

Answer: Yes, our Colleges of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences and Letters and Science have a limit on the number of transferable units that will be accepted. If you have completed 80 semester (120 quarter) units or more of combined UC-transferable community college units and four-year college units, your admission is subject to approval by the dean of your UC Davis major.

Mmmmm, my question was probably too wordy. Basically, can AP credit hurt me/be used against me? I’m wondering if it’s counted as UC transferable since I don’t want to risk my admission just because it caused for me to go over 120 units.

If all of your units come from a community college then you’re okay. Don’t worry about it. Only the students who have regionally accredited 4 year university units combined with CC units have to worry about the unit cap.
