What happens now that I am approved for TAG?

I found out a couple days ago that I was TAG approved for UCD. When will I hear back from UC that I am officially admitted into the school after I apply for regular admission...do I have wait all the way until March like I did back in high school? Also, my TAG came back and they calculated my unit total as 104 quarter units (this was the case because I reported 7 AP scores)...which makes me a bit uneasy because when I complete all my classes this year as a sophomore I'll have a crapload of units...probably around 140 or more? I'm not too sure if that will hurt or help me. Can you get your TAG revoked or not be eligible for UC if you have TOO many units?

Yes you can have too many units

I have heard that UCLA only includes AP credits until you are at the limit then they do not factor them in. So if you are under the maximum units allowed without AP credits but over it with AP credits then they will not count some of the AP classes. Or at least I believe that’s how it works.

“Units earned through AP or IB examinations are counted separately for this purpose; AP and IB units do not put applicants at risk of being denied admission or of having an admissions decision delayed due to a dean’s review.”

I think it depends on your major. I am not sure all of them have limits.

"Question: Does UC Davis have a transfer unit limit?

Answer: Yes, our Colleges of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences and Letters and Science have a limit on the number of transferable units that will be accepted. If you have completed 80 semester (120 quarter) units or more of combined UC-transferable community college units and four-year college units, your admission is subject to approval by the dean of your UC Davis major.
If you go to a CC I think it is not possible to have too many credits but if you go to a 4-year there is a unit limit.

You can’t have too many units if you’ve only attended a CC for TAG or general admission.

You decision will come out the same time as everyone else’s. The only difference is now as long as you meet all the stipulations in the TAG contraction, you already know what that decision is – acceptance at UC Davis. Decisions start to come out mid March/April after the freshman decisions.
