I will be a freshman in the fall and I seriously can't decide which one: Davis or Cal Poly. I applied to both schools as biochem major, but still don't really know what I want to do (most likely something in the science biology or chemistry), and I will probably go to grad school. So I was wondering what made you pick Davis or Cal Poly. I've visited both schools, but liked them for different reasons (but they still seem very similar).

if you think you'll probably go to grad school, i'd choose davis over cal poly because davis is graduate-based and cal poly is only undergrad. i got accepted to both schools and i was in your situation a few months ago. i chose cal poly because it'll probably be the biggest change in my life...everything's new (since i'm from the bay area and cal poly is in central california)...i'm gonna meet a lot of new people which i'm pretty excited about..but in davis, i'll probably meet a lot of the same (type?)people from bay area and i've lived there before...so i guess i want something new? anyways, they're both good schools, just choose whichever you're comfortable with. if you're choosing cal poly, i'll see ya there in the fall:)

if you plan on majoring in biochem and you think grad school is in your future then definately choose UC Davis. UC Davis has a strong program for what you are interested in and for grad school UC's are your best route because they are research institutions preparing you for grad school.
cal poly is a awesome school with a good biology program as well but as state college its more of a undergrad program that gets you ready for the work force straight out of college.
whatever your choose both schools are cool, ill be at cal poly next fall. cool.
