Per my conversation with admissions counselor today. They are keeping the waitlist active to fill spots that become available if they are forced to rescind offers of admissions to students who perform poorly in their spring semester. Transcripts are not due till July 1st, so they may extend waitlist beyond June 30. I asked specifically, if there were freshman openings currently waiting to be filled, and I was told that there are none.
So my interpretation is that they will not reject applicants until the bitter end and will use them as insurance until transcripts are reviewed.
@Thisisaloadofcrap do u know anything about transfers ? I’m still on the waitlist but I know some ppl were accepted a few days ago
I don’t have specific information about transfers, but the process is different and most acceptances since June 1st have been transfers.
@Thisisaloadofcrap Do you know who you talked to? I just called the admissions office to see if I could get any other information and the lady basically said nothing. She also mentioned that more waves will come out but she sounded unsure so idk if it’s legit.
@cansycane I don’t remember the persons name, but it was someone with first hand knowledge. I doubt that there will be additional "waves’ of acceptances, but I hope I’m mistaken.
UCSD has closed their waitlist. UCLA still trickling in. Davis update Engineering and most science majors full, may still fill a few spots in other majors. My impression was that they would be few. Last wave will be rejections.
@thisisaloadofcrap do u know anything about clinical nutrition
@college2345 No, I do t know anything specifically about clinical nutrition. Good luck!
Anyone get answers today , two friends got UCLA rejections this afternoon.
My major is community and regional development, still no news from Davis waitlist. Do u have any ideas around which date of the month will Davis start sending rejections?
Just called UC Davis admissions. They said the purpose of the wait list extension time was because they are trying to figure out how many spots they have open so that they can accept more students off the wait list. Getting accepted isn’t based on majors, because each major has the same amount of spots open for students to fill in (Or that’s what they said anyway).

Not surprised by the outcome but very resentful of the process.
