UC-Denver ... What Can You Tell Me?

Two of my daughter's safety schools are Northern AZ University and UC-Denver; they are two completely different types of schools. For those of you that have been on the campus, what can you tell me about UC-Denver? We are planning a trip there in March and we've done lots of web research but what are your experiences and knowledge of the school?

Dorms and off-campus living

Surrounding area

Safety

Any knowledge you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

It is a commuter school. The area is safe, although it is near downtown. The scene is quite hip, is you want it. You are very near several large event centers (the pepsi center being the biggest, along with an elitches). Everyone lives off campus though.
They just got a great sci wing though :)

^^ No, not everyone lives on campus. UCD requires dorms for incoming freshmen and first year international students.

I meant that after required dorm stay, everyone choses to live off campus. And many people I know there go to community college for the first year, and thus, avoid the dorm issue.

Yes, but the discussion is about UCD. And it’s NOT strictly the commuter school you said it is. In fact, the number of students staying in the dorms after the freshman year is growing at UCD, but as in MOST schools, students do eventually move out. And as in many schools, they live in nearby student-friendly neighborhoods, in Denver’s case around Capitol Hill, Highlands, and uptown.

I’m sorry if I offended you. Thats what I have observed and from people I speak to, thats what they have seen too.

No offense taken, I’m just trying to give accurate information, that’s all.
