UC english major prep

I am trying to get my fall schedule sorted out. Next semester will be start of my sophmore year and I will have 33 semester units. I am an english major and I need to know how many more english classes I need.

I have: 1 year of english composition (my school requires that of everybody, ENG 101 & 102), 1 course of critical reading and writing, 1 course of literature of the U.S. I also completed my foreign language requirement.

So that is 4 english courses so far. Here is the link for ucla's english major requirements.

http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/lsmajors/english.htm

I am going to take a survey of english lit class sometime before transfer, but I still have math and science to fit in. So anyways.....will my history of US lit count for anything? It isn't called a survey class but it is essentially the same thing with a US emphasis.

Do I look okay so far as an english major? Suggestions?

It really depends on the agreement your school has with UCLA.
Example, this link shows what's necessary for SMC to UCLA english transfers http://www.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=SMCC&ria=UCLA&ia=SMCC&oia=UCLA&aay=05-06&ay=05-06&dora=ENGL

If you go to http://www.assist.org/ and enter your school and UCLA the requirements should be available. Good luck!

oh I am also out-of-state...

Oh, then you are lucky! Seems like you are set, except for the english lit. course. However, UCLA can only ask that you complete the equivalent pre req. courses at your school. if your school doesn't offer one, perhaps they will accept the u.s. class or allow you to complete while at UCLA?
