Hi. So my second UC essay is like bomb but my first one isn’t very good… and I can’t think of a different topic so I can’t just scrap it and rewrite another (esp. cuz I wanna submit today). How much will this turn off adcoms (I’m applying to top 6 UC’s). I have great grades and test scores and all that.

If u are going to submit today anyway, then what difference do our opinions matter?

At the UCs, having a great essay will NOT compensate for substantial weakness in GPA/SAT. Similarly, a bad essay shouldn’t be a deal breaker with a distinguishable academic record.
