When are the decisions coming out?
@meltingsoull many people have said this before in the previous comments, but it looks like sometime late next week.
I’m sure they look at ECs but judging from last year’s forum, Irvine seems to care about GPA the most
Hey, I know that I am late to this thread, but I got accepted into irvine with chp(Have no fucking idea how) My weighted gpa is 4.4 and unweighted 4.0, sat only 1850, pretty good ecs and volunteer work, and imo I had really good statements.
How Hard it is for OOSers to get into the UCs? My stats are pretty decent and I have tons of leadership and sports and stuff and I got rejected by Davis yesterday. I’m from MA.
@Fiona1997 I’m OOS and got rejected from Davis too. I feel ya
@typoichik not even a wait-list… sigh
@Fiona1997 my friend made it into UCSD (Roosevelt) Undeclared (first choice major is CS), but she got rejected from UCD. As for UCI, they tend to focus on GPA more than SAT, if you got high UC GPA (Weighted 10-11 only), I think you’d be fine for UCI
@henrytheunicorn Very helpful information, thanks!
For others, can you share some knowledge on about when UCI has a history of releasing decisions?
so if i have a UC gpa of 3.9, SAT score of 1840, but good EC’s and really strong essays, how screwed am i for irvine?
I was class of 2018 and I got my admissions decision at the end of the third week of March. I’d expect them to come around the 18th.
@OneDeaged Ooh awesome! Thanks so much! I’m looking forward to hearing the results, congratulations on attending such a beautiful school! If you have the time, can you give me a brief explanation on what it’s like there? I was very seriously considering UCI as well – it’s such a beautiful area! I’m a little concerned about the weather and city though.
Irvine (and most of OC) is a very nice area. In terms of weather, if you’re from SoCal then it’s the status quo, a bit cooler if you didn’t live as close to the coast before. It’s been rated one of the safest cities in the country so you don’t have much to worry about in regards to safety (other than the terrible drivers). People say it’s a commuter campus but I’ve lived on campus two years and have had no qualms in regards to that. I think the biggest plus for me is that a lot of tech companies are in Irvine and there are a ton of internship opportunities (I’m a information and computer science major). There are also a lot of on campus jobs to choose from. I’d say my current on campus job basically got me my internship which has a great chance of turning into a full-time job. So overall, I think I made a pretty good choice attending.
Any Data Science majors out there?
Did anyone applying for computer science at UCI get in UCR’s 5 year bs + ms computer science program?
Waiting to hear back from UCI like…

@enterFALCON I’m not sure the link works
UCs for OOS is easy for Davis. They accept 85% out of state and only 30% instate. I too got into UCSD undeclared (CS first) and got rejected from Davis.
Can someone tell me when UCI is releasing their regular decisions? I’ve been hearing so many different dates I don’t even know anymore…
No specific dates have been given other than on a rolling basis to the end of March.
